Do you want him to achieve success in MMA? Do you think him coming to MMA is a good thing? How will he do against Mir? As Joe Rogan said if he wins will he set a prototype for future HW champs, ie; being a big huge wrestler? [yt]jWQ1AyGUFsQ[/yt] Theres his pro-debut.
I am not liking his personality. In the video above it looks like his opponet is trying to touch gloves and Brock starts jabbing. That could be due to just being in the zone, being his debut and all. His personality sucks from what I have seen and I hope Mir takes it to him. His bone structure/size will make it hard to keep a tight gaurd on him. His strength will allow him to power out of half guard rather easily.
He has a very wide back, he was getting some amazing power from those shots while being so close to his opponent.
**** that i wanna see an F5!!!:happy As for Brocks personality, the guys a showman. He spent some good years at OVW and the WWE learning how to be an in ring champ. He wasnt that great on the mike but he was certainly better than the current flotsam in the WWE. This has translated to the UFC and his no diffrent. His simply promoting himself.I hope he doesnt take his antics too seriously though as ankle locks in the UFC are deadly real.:yep
I don't think it will set a prototype for new champs if he becomes one, that prototype has already been set several times by Kerr, Erikson, and Coleman, its nothing new. Not saying it can't work because it clearly does, but just that its not a new type of fighter. I think he will do ok, hes a bit old to be starting and he hasn't competed in a long time, but hes still got at least one thing he will almost always be able to count on. There will be huge trouble when he runs into a guy thats as good of a wrestler as him, but theres not many of those around at HW right now. I think Mir will take it, Mir is a very talented guy, and was one of the first really good big men with a jiu-jitsu and wrestling hybrid.
Yeah, as soon as I think of Brock in MMA I think of those same exact guys. As outdated as their style is perceived, the heavyweights are weak and a prime version of any of those fighters could make a dent today. I think Brock certainly can, if he can take a punch and has the heart to last through adveristy in a fight. Also, let's be honest here, there is also the drug issue. Kerr and Coleman weren't tested back then, and wouldn't make it through State screening these days. Brock is certainly a genetic freak even if he does/has used, but I find it hard to believe that someone of his statue and appearance and coming from that era of pro wrestling wasn't fueled by pills and needles.
Brock was on steroids you can believe that. His dropped around 50lbs and isnt half as shredded or as lean as he used to be.He got busted some time back for selling them i believe. He was a monster at a young age.Kids dont grow to 300lbs on good food alone.
When I see Brock in MMA I think of Coleman but then you go, Brock is WAY stronger and bigger then Coleman, which might allow Brock to have some great success on sheer size and strength alone. We'll see.
I would agree that Brock is bigger and possibly stronger, but Colemans wrestling was even one notch higher than Brocks, which is really saying something.
Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106-5 overall in four years of college.[8][9] (Wiki ftw) Lesnar got some skills, maybe his extra strength will help him. We'll see like I said. I'd like to see him succeed.
Firstly, lets see how big and strong he is off the juice - 6'2", 260-ish? He's big, but there are bigger guys in MMA these days. Also, he was never an exceptionally skilled wrestler - winning the ncaa in the superheaveyweight can be gone largely on size/ strength, didnt that Bobish clown win it ffs?
