Awful stand up, good controlling ground game. Will come unstuck against decent defensive wrestlers who can bang.

Needs to work on his striking... That being said, he has great wrestling, submissions and an awesome chin. Will probably be an elite (if not a champion) of the division in a couple of years. People with awesome wrestling, submissions and chins are always going to do well...

I think he's striking "defense" sucks. From what I've seen he's pretty quick and accurate.

He could be great but, his stand up is bad. The worse part is he hasn't improved it at all.

I like him, but getting tagged by mike Kyle is a bad sign. Good on the ground but not great. Another over hyped (but better than most due to his chin and composure) TUF winner unless he can improve his striking defence. I think reaction times is the main problem in that regard, not sure how you'd fix it tbh

With his chin up style of boxing - he is a knockout waiting to happen. His ground game is very solid though. Will be interesting to see how he progresses.

He's a strange dude, but that makes him interesting. I like his whole humble warrior philosophy.

With that said, a decent wrestler with good striking will bomb him out in about 30 seconds. His stand-up is horrible. It's his awkward fighting style and heart that won him TUF, but against the elite of the UFC's 155 division, good luck.

He surprised a lot of his opponents by climbing all over their back. He has some surprisingly good throws and scrambling ability. Still, unless he works on tucking that chin, he is going to be a perennial gatekeeper ala Keith Jardine. (Which also means he will get spectacularly KOed a few times.)

Like him alot but he really as everyone has said has got to tuck that chin. Ive seen very few fighters hold there chin so high like Jon Brookins does. If he winds up winning a fight or 2 and faces a Stephens or Melvin Guillard with that style I seen him getting KTFO badly. Other then that hes a pretty well rounded fighter and I love his personality, wanna see guys like him go far. Good heart as well most guys would have been finished after all the punishment Johnson dished out in round 1.

He has potential. All rounder who could improve on certain areas like stand up. Same with Michael Johnson.

He's going to get starched as soon as he fights a dangerous striker with good takedown defense. His takedowns are pretty good, but he has no head movement, keeps his head straight up, and moves straight backwards or changes levels for takedown when he gets nailed. I'm saying he seems a bit too predictable.

When your buzzed and you move straight back, or you get nailed and you change levels and go for a single leg every time, it becomes predictable. Its harder to finish the takedown when your buzzed, and your closer to getting knocked out if your already buzzed and end up on your back.

These are things he can improve, they are just a bad weakness to have.

I've noticed all that combing too. That hair of his is going to get him knocked out one of these days.
