What are your opinions on this type of headgear? I'll be called gay, but I value my face lol, but no really I work in sales and my manager got pissed off at me when I came in with a bit of red round my eye once and I ain't gonna quit boxing and sparring so what do ya reckon? I've currently got the cheek protecter ones, but I still managed to get a shiner because of my ridiculously **** defence :thumbsup I'll work on that though, but do they get in the way of vision at all or have any real negatives?

    I think they're great..I've seen many pro's use it..

You're sparring, you're allowed to use it, and it doesn't make you train any less or worse..Just prevents you from getting cuts or broking your nose.

    Anything that protects the nose.

  4. Get it, I wouldn't knock ya. I'm actually looking for a decently priced one myself.

Only thing about headgear I don't like is the thicker and bigger it is, the less aware I feel I am during the more up and close fighting.

It's a done deal then I'm gonna buy it :deal

The only thing I'm not sure about is when/if I actually compete, wearing an open headguard would be a strange feeling and I guess you wanna feel as comfortable as possible. Ahhhh I'll just deal with that when it comes.

I don't see how anyone would call you gay for using it. I would rather be called gay rather than not be able to fight because my nose is broken.

My trainer, and my whole gym hates when people wear them. We have 1 kid who wears one. It gives you a false sense of security. We all try to bend it when we get in with the kid hahaha

I wear one and love it. Another kid had the other kind and kept getting a bloody nose every time he sparred. He saw mine and now he got one, too. What's the point of getting hurt when you're trying to learn.
