You love making this baseless assertion. If it were true, we would be able to pinpoint with complete accuracy the first fighters to use any number of tactics and techniques. That's not how boxing works though. Fighters and trainers hone their technique incrementally and over time, through experience and experimentation.

I'm not surprised at the Dempsey story. My unique philosophy of fight styles is that they evolve with pop culture. Ali was "dancing" to the popular rhythms of his time. Funny if all our disagreements on styles stem from the music in the era!
