Seeing the 12th is a moral victory for Penalosa. As long as he puts in a good account of himself, like he does every time out, I will be overjoyed for him.

Errrr no. He should have already been in everyone's P4P Top 10 after the Mijares (#5 at the time) win. When you beat a P4P fighter you become a P4P fighter yourself. Hatton entered straight in after beating Zoo, Margarito did after beating Cotto, and Mosley entered straight back in after beating Margarito. Why is there double standards for Vic?? It's because he is a victim of being in a division that doesn't get the exposure that the higher weights do. You have to realise P4P status is not a frigging POPULARITY contest. He should not be marked down simply because he is not as well known as some of the other guys.

Answer me this question: what makes Mosley's win any more significant or impressive as Vic's win over Mijares??? He became the first man to unify the division ffs. I guarantee you, if Mosley had unified the WW division people would start talking about moving him alongside Pac as P4P #1. Vic does it and some idiots say he is knocking on the door of top 10. :patsch Honestly anyone who doesn't have him at least at #7 is just plain ignorgant.

Because Shaw who's Donaire previous promoter who has favoritism on his pet Darchinyan who just Donaire KTFO winning the Upset of The Year 07 and KO of the Year 07. Didn't gave him a single match for about a year because he made his pet do the chicken dance.

Your right maybe Donaire might be fighting bums today. But do you think he ever want that? He was on his way on the top, until Shaw f*cked up his career because of hate. Time is passing for Donaire, hopefully we see him have a good match up being promoted by Top Rank.

    And???

So having a loss on your record immediately disqulifies you from P4P lists? Even a blind man can see Vic has changed as a fighter, made the necessary adjustments to his technique and is not the same fighter he was when he fought Donaire. Hatton, Marquez and Cotto all get KTFO and people still have them on the lists. How is this different?

Why don't u compare the 2 fighters and their achievements post the Donaire KO and tell me who has accomplished more and fought (and dominated) the tougher opposition.

    Regarding Vic and Donaire...

Vic is no doubt higher on the mythical P4P rankings than Donaire since he has a unified belt and just beat a mid-well known man. What Donaire's lacking is a good publicity. He was taken out of the picture after he KOd Vic, from Shaw's doing.
Don't tell me its a lie, everyone can see it and everyone knows it why.
That's why we can just hope Top Rank will give him the deserving bouts he need and try to win it all.
As I said time is passing on Donaire.

Agreed. I don't think time is passing him by as he is still very young, but I think Donaire has all the ability in the world, and technically I believe is even better than Pac. Only time will tell, but I think Donaire is the future and will be a household name (including consensus in everyone's P4P lists) very soon. At the moment, the guy only has a couple of very good victories and needs bigger fights to get more exposure and recognition.

You can't include Lopez because he only has 1 big win over DeLeon. Medina was pretty unknown and his only claim to fame was giving Boom Boom Bautista a hard time and Boom Boom really has shown to be that good anyway. Plus he pretty much threw the fight out of fear. Lopez will be top 5 soon but as of now he isn't close to top 10.

Donaire's only decent win is Darchinyan. Vic on the other hand beat Kirliov, Mijares(top 10 P4P at the time) and Arce. Plus Vic had some good wins before the Donaire fight. His over all resume and recent resume blows Donaire's out of the water. Donaire IMO is a much better fighter but just hasn't shown it.
