You can 'turn nasty' on me all you want, i in turn will turn the other cheek and not respond. A man only uses profanity if he has little wisdom and nothing much to say for himself. Well, its well documented what i think of Nonito Donaire if you read my thread history, and for you to state Calderon needs to move up in weight (again) to fight at 112lbs, indicates to me you don't truely understand the nature of boxing. The man is 5ft tall........he gives up every physical advantage as it is in his weight class, oh except TALENT.
that's rubbish. all skill and technique has to do with p4p lists is giving an indication of potential effectiveness. the fact hatton isn't slick and skillfull doesn't mean anything when assessing his p4p ranking. it's not a beauty contest it's about winning fights and that's what hatton does.
i think it's more of your capability to beat other guys...when was the last time a lower ranked p4p fighter is favored to beat a higher ranked? imagine when caballero fights lopez . lopez would be favored, yet caballero is ranked higher...that for me is bullsh!t.. when izzy fights lopez, im sure the odds would be close. it's bec the public knows that the fight wold go either way. yet, people ranked them miles away in the p4p rankings
Good post. P4P lists has NOTHING to do with skill and technique. If those attributes help you become effective in the ring then great, but it is about who is hypothtically the BEST FIGHTER if they fought at the same weight class. We could have a Top 10 "Technicians", Top 10 "Punchers" and Top 10 "Brawlers" lists but we don't, it's about overall effectiveness in the ring. This is the reason we had guys like Margarito and Hatton in the list. Both brawlers who wouldn't be considered to have much boxing skill, but definietely EFFECTIVE inside the ring.
Tell Me, when was the last time a true slugger/brawler was p4p no.1? (Pacquaio is not really a brawler)
Its funny that cus alot of the guys in the p4p list which may i add is supposed to be MYTHICAL fight each other making it very REAL. The same fans who bark on about TOO many belts, no true champion in a weight division etc etc, are the same ones that stick about 3 fighters from the same weight divison on there p4p list. Why don't we limit the amount of fighters from the same weight division on the p4p list? Making it MYTHICAL. I.E one fighter per weight? Or two? p4p is MYTHICAL!!!!!! Have i made my point?
My point is essentially, how can you not be king of your weight yet higher than other guys who are king of there weight on the p4p list.
