from what i can see from most people's list, alot of fighters are from the same weight or one below, or one above, making the fights between p4p candidates very real. If you can not see that then you must be deluding yourselfs. entry into the p4p lists is far too measy for my liking. as it is to slip out from there.

At the end of ther day, there is a top ten p4p list, 17 weight divisions, so what im suggesting, there is room for manuover

ok 'mate', im just fed up of boxing honours being thrown around willy nilly. It used to be an honour to be rated amoungst the best and now its ridiculous how we move people up and down, in and out. The lower weights get totally ignored as do the heavyweights. We have fighters 'fighting' for p4p spots. How dumb is that?

Personally, I'd switch Mosley and Iron Boy. Then, I'd take out Juanma though he's at least top 15 for me. I'd replace him with Rafael Marquez. Then I'd also take out Paul Williams and replace him with Miguel Cotto but only coz I haven't seen as much of Paul and Cotto's loss to Magarito was competetive. Then I'd take Vic and put him at number 10 and bumped everyone else up. But that's just me.

Your missing the point completely. Your premise that P4P lists are in essense meaning "skill and technique" is completely wrong. As I said before it is based on who would hypothetically be the BEST fighter. If the majority of fighters in the current list are primarily boxers and good technicians it purely means that currently we have a group of skilled boxers who are proving to be the most effective at this time.

That's not to say that a new breed of "brawler" type fighters can't be equally effective in the future and dominate the P4P lists. As I said the list is NOT the Top 10 "Boxers".

Having a P4P list with a lot of fighters in the same division purely means that the division is strong and filled with great fighters. If you really wanted to have a hypothetical list and thus making it MYTHICAL (fighters that would never be up against each other), then you would really only have one fighter represented on behalf of every division, but that is not the point of the list.

I agree with you that the smaller divisions get ignored and the main reason is because a lot of the time it essentially becomes a popularity contest. The more popular and more exposure fighters get, the higher they rate (i.e. check out the Ring list). I guarantee you Hatton would not be even considered in anyone's list if he fought in one of the lower divisions.

Dude, just take the whole P4P thing with a grain of salt. It is simply a way to encourage some constructive debate (especially when we talk about hypotheticals). It is always going to be subjective no matter what and we will never get a consensus.

Agree, it's way too soon for Lopez. He hasn't done enough. However I do think he will be there in the future. I think Lopez and Donaire are the future in terms of potential P4P'ers.
