Opponent Swap: Foreman-Lyle & Purrity-Wlad I was inspired to create this topic because of some posts by frankenfrank & Seamus... I ask who would be victorious in the following match-ups in which the versions of the combatants from the 2 fights are switched around? '76 Foreman vs. '98 Purrity '76 Lyle vs. '98 Wlad '76 Foreman vs. '98 Wlad '76 Lyle vs. '98 Purrity

Damn, interesting thread dude... My take on it: Foreman TKO6 Purrity Foreman KO2 Wlad Lyle SD Purrity Lyle-Wlad is too close to call for me...
Well, the opening quotes that I assume inspired this nonsense are kind of mind boggling. At any rate, you can't seriously contrast an upstart in the raw stages of his pro career fighting stupidly against a trial horse and a battle between two top 5 contenders. How about Walcott vs. Abe Simon and Tyson/Holyfield next.
As I already posted Foreman UD12 Puritty Wlad stops Lyle most of times Foreman probably stops Wlad but the opposite possible as well. Lyle vs Puritty all I know is that Lyle could not stop Puritty , every other option is possible , so Puritty has the edge overall .
Thanks for the support DDDUUDDDEE! :good @Mong: I don't give a crap if these aren't fair fights in your opinion, i was inspired to make this topic by the quoted posts.
Foreman TKO5 Purrity: A brave Ross is battered & stopped on cuts. Foreman KO4 Wlad: This Wlad lasts about 4 rounds i think, because he was throwing a nice amount of fast & accurate bombs from the start, & Foreman is not used to fighting taller men. The straighter bombs of Wlad could score him a knockdown as Foreman comes in wide open. Lyle SD Purrity: Razor close battle, Purrity might score a late stoppage if he puts his foot on the peddle, like when Shot Ali stopped Lyle late. Wlad KO6 Lyle: Wlad was superior to Lyle even at this point, footage shows this.
1976: Foreman vs 1998 Purrity - Foreman wins by TKO probably between the fourth and seventh rounds. Purrity would astonish the world by remaining on his feet despite taking a terrible beating. 1976 Lyle vs 1998 Wlad: Lyle by KO. Lyle was a really tough, dangerous and savvy contender, while Wlad, at this stage, was just a neophyte. This one is done by the fifth or sixth round. Wlad takes the count. The 2000 Wlad would probably beat Lyle, though. 1976 Foreman vs 1998 Wlad: Foreman by brutal, early KO. Wlad was too green at this stage for Foreman. 1976 Lyle vs 1998 Purrity: Lyle by unanimous decision. Ross has his moments, but Lyle's superior savvy puts him well ahead on the cards.
