I think Taylor wins this one. Amsterdam underrates him a fair bit. :yep

Keep in mind... Before B-Hop was dethroned, JT's resume was comparable to Pavlik's. Pavlik is following the path of a promoter. You can't beat the best until you fought them.

Taylor vs. Calzaghe will be a good "has beens" fight next year, but it won't be a title fight.

It will be interesting to see if Taylor can gain strength moving up in weight as Cotto did.

Should read "funny how SOME these Pavlik fans". Please don't lump us all in that group, because yes I'm a Pavlik fan and also like JT very much.

It seems like Amsterdam is ready to chase Blocky and JT all the way to the nether regions of hell. 6 month ban is a long time, especially right up to Kessler-Calzaghe fight.

I'm just happy this fight has become a win-win for me. If Pavlik wins, it's great because Taylor will have lost and maybe I'll have to see him on TV less. If Taylor wins, then Amsterdam is gone for 7 months, and I don't have to read his drivel.

Calzaghe would never have gone to Germany to fight Ottke, and don't get me wrong I don't blame him the least, because unless he stopped Ottke he would have been robbed. He would probably even have been disqualified just for sending Ottke to the canvas.:-(

But let me get this right regarding Hopkins, are you saying that Hopkins' people would have promoted the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight and Calzaghe furthermore had to pay Hopkins for the fight. So in other words Calzaghe would not have any income from this fight only expenses?:huh The fight would have been in the UK just like the Lacy and Kessler fights and the attempted Taylor fight or are you going to claim that the Taylor fight would have been in the States too?

Calzaghe has only fought out of his comfort zone twice, and both times were when he knew there wasn't much of a risk.
First against Will McIntyre who had lost twice and never won anything or beat anyone of importence. That fight was on neutral ground at the Tysen vs Nielsen undercard.

Second time was in Germany against Veit, who Calzaghe already knew had no chin or will when faced with adversity.

After Pavlik win the crown, Taylor will always have option to give peanut rematch to Winky or Hopkins.
