Is he the beneficiary of a big guy fighting in a lighter division? On fight night Rios weighed in at 161 which is a Middleweight, Alvarado weighed in at 158, which is also a Middleweight. They obviously were fighting at 140, and both fighters made weight, but my question remains, does Rios chin hold up as he moves up?

Sorry for screwing up the topic, should read Is Rios, not Or Rios.

We will never really know. Lets say that he moves up to 147 and gets knocked out early, Some will say that it's the higher weight but what about all the abuse and damage he has taken in both Alvarado fights and others where he always took heavy shots. You could say they have already taken their toll on his chin.

Personally, I think Rios has a good chin regardless the weight.

he's been knocked down before early in his career i believe, due to nerves i believe though... his chin is simply constructed of some sort of titanium alloy

Those punches by Alvarado would have dropped other guys.

The only time Brandon ever took a knee was from a body shot. He knocked the guy out a ffew rounds later.

If he was in GB against Thurman, Berto, Maidana, Matthysse, Garcia, Alexander, Lopez his career would be over fast , in TR he is okay even at 147 because guys like Pacquiao, Bradley, Ruslan and Jones aren't huge. I could tell people didn't get it when the said Rios would do better if he was GB, if Ortiz was TR he wouldn't have a loss.

It was something like his 4th or 5th bout and was a hard shot to the liver. Someone posted the vid once.

I recommend not being a Top Rank zombie, you Rios fans don't get that he has been carefully matched and he has fought one guy at 140, if you think Rios would do good in Golden Boy you don't know boxing

  10. No Alvardo's punches are shitter than Bradley's. Rios' chin is pure china.

I wouldn't say Bradley but it's comical how people think Alvarado is this on punch guy

i think rios has a chin. but he is big for that weight, thats why he was braking guys will left and right. you would have to out box him all night or fight him toe to toe. but all those guys at 140 walk around at from 170 to 190 pounds. look at floyd who fights at 147 and walks around at 150 maybe 152 highest.
but rios can take punches better if hes not killing himself making weight like at 135. i just think he rios has a chin and alvardo can crack at this point.
