Agreed. I think Fenech would be all wrong for Canizales, contrary to what is being said. Just too mean and overwhelming physically for such a finesse-laden, by-the-book technician like Canizales.
Billy Hardy came close to beating Orlando in their first fight, the last few rounds he was walking him down. I think Fenech would have overpowered him.
I wouldn't say Orlando was at his best in the first Hardy fight, for whatever reason. He didn't seem nearly as sharp as usual. He set the record straight in the rematch by winning in emphatic, one-sided fashion. One of his better performances. The reason I think Fenech would get the better of him was because I think that kind of mauling rough-houser brute is the perfect foil for a text-book sound, angle using fighter in the mold of Canizales. Instead of fighting off the backfoot, Canizales would use side to side movement to befuddle an opponent in close and get the better position to punch. A guy like Fenech would have no qualms with simply clinching, bullying and putting in his work once his man was within his grasp. Similar to issues that Willie Pep had with guys like Saddler and Angott. Fenech is the perfect spoiler for that type of fighter.
My boy Jessie Reid Jr did two of them and they were incredible...unlikely to be improved upon...but it was just a highlight of his knockouts whereas I was thinking of doing a highlight of his foot work and combination punching. They've been removed from Youtube now...I think I might work on a Canizales highlight now that you've brought it up. I'm okay at them..here's two I made which I think showed two fighters at their best. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOp5ttxStrQ[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRF_3VeI-LQ[/ame]
I'm not joking when I say that I think i've favourited these *******s already. At the very least I have watched and enjoyed them. Nice work :good A good Canizales highlight requires clips of foot work, combo's as well as KO's. Try to leave out clips of him shaking his head, twitching and touching his face though. Don't rush it. I expect a work of art (and a quality soudtrack) :thumbsup
:good Anyway on the subject of the thread, Orlando's chin is good and he had great footwork which helped him get out of range quickly. Having said that he could be caught, even by mediocre opposition, and although he never seemed hurt I think he could suffer a few KO's against the very elite at 122. Or, as we have rarely seen him get hurt, he may just get on his bike and survive, although I doubt it.
