NO. There is and have been plenty of amazing fighters who don't have the fundamentals down and just got by with pure athleticism. Just look at how sloppy Pacquaio, Gamboa and the legendary Mosley tend to get. Of course, they have skill, but just as Salido does.

Speed made it invisible to the naked it, but the flaws are there. Salido is unlucky not to posses that athleticism

Teaching someone basics like balance and throwing a jab is something you're suppose to learn. I didn't say he had to learn to fight flashy or learn to roll punches.

 

I'd add cheat to that list. The way he behaved in the Loma fight was a total disgrace to the sport.
