i must be the only Loma fan not interested, at all, in this fight. its gone now, Salido just got stopped by Roman, what will it prove? that he can get "revenge" 4 years later? i wanna see him unify tbh

Loma must do the rematch if Salido unretires.

Would like to see Salido vs Castellanos in a rematch, then if he wins a Loma rematch. I just feel he needs a win before going into a Loma fight.

This would definitely be an uphill battle for Salido at this point, since its several years after the fact and Salido almost got robbed in the first fight. One of the judges was shameless enough to give the decision to Loma, who won 4-5 rounds at best.

Salido would need a stoppage to get the win much like PAC would've needed a stoppage to get the win on Horn, since I doubt Arum will leave it to chance this time.

I'd much rather see Loma fight the other top fighters in his division or move up, since he's fought enough old or inactive fighters. He hasn't had a decent opponent, since Roman Martinez, which was over a year ago.

What I do find amusing in its paradoxical absurdity is the idea of ancient Salido being such a talking point in the present-day reality of an ostensibly elite fighter. There are three threads re. a Salido rematch on the forum's front page. And it isn't just forum babble, it's the fighter (or certainly his promoter) pursuing it. Was Gerald McClellan trying to fight Dennis Milton in 1994? Then I guess Loma isn't all that far along the path to greatness, after all. Maybe Bobby can cool it with the canonization and put him in some more matchups that aren't so, uh, calibrated. It's been almost 4 years.

I actually agree that it would be much more worthwhile to fight a better opponent and that Salido is done by now. But some people won't let go of the stigma of "he lost" and the even worse "he never avenged his losses" and the worstest "He ducked the rematch". I reckon if Salido is still boxing he's going to have to do dos mas with Loma and take his lumps.

At this point even if Loma doesn't avenge the loss against Salido as long as he starts cleaning out 130 and 135 or gets a win over Mikey I doubt anybody would care as much about the Salido fight. But, his competition for the 1-2 years has been very weak so I can see why the Salido fight gets brought up as frequently as it does.

People criticized Mikey Garcia for taking the easy way out against Salido for years, but after the clinic he put on Broner nobody cares anymore.

Foreman in his prime never avenged his losses against Ali or Jimmy Young, but it didn't matter since he had wins over Frazier and Norton.

His losing isn't the problem. It's rematching a man who beat him. If you've ever gotten beaten up by someone and come to a decision that the other guy is just too tough to fight again, that's the sign of a coward.

If you rematch that same guy and win or lose,,,at least you have your own self respect and others respect. In boxing rematches matter.

The only people "interested" are the Lomachenko naysayers - but in reality they aren't. They just use the 'loss' to unfairly slate Lomachenko and scream from the sidelines that Lomachenko NEEDS to rematch him for his legacy(even going as far to say he should take the lesser half of the spoils) But know damn well that Lomachenko would steamroll him this time around and then would denounce the victory and just point to Salido being shot. You can't win with these kind of "critics".

Yeah Loma has bigger challenges but it would be nice to just to add having defeated every opponent he has faced. Even with Rigo moving up 2 weight classes, quitting and being 37, I still think it is a good scalp on Loma's record.

Part of me would be happy to see Salido get a decent payday for the rematch. Despite his dirty tactics he has been fan friendly and had a great career.
