Round 1

Maldonado circles out to his left and pokes some slow deliberate jabs at the body of Arroyo. High right hand by Arroyo, easily ducked. Maldonado bounces on his toes, circling left. Jabs and slap-hooks by Maldonado. Arroyo tries to check jabs on his right glove, and throws a couple of his own. Maldonado leads with his right hand from outside, blocked. Slap-hook from a crouch by Maldonado. 1-2 by Arroyo, falling in and missing. Jabs to the body by Maldonado from outside. Overhand right and left hook by Arroyo. Now he reverses it, left hook and overhand right. Maldonado hops in place, shuffling side to side a bit and throwing jabs and rights into Arroyo's guard. Maldonado falls in with a left hook banging on the side door. Jab by Arroyo. Body jab by Maldonado. Nice work by Maldonado backing up, picking Arroyo off with jabs and rights. Straight right by Arroyo. Right and left by Arroyo.

Round 2

Flush jabs by Arroyo. Upper-hooks by Arroyo. Maldonado is trying to hook with him but getting knocked back. Combos traded back and forth, with Arroyo getting there quicker. BIG RIGHT HAND BY ARROYO. Maldonado has turned southpaw and is pawing with the right jab, looking to set up a big left cross. Left hook leaping in by Arroyo, smacking Maldonado upside the head with it as he alights with a cat-like landing. Maldonado lands a few soft right jabs. Arroyo hooks at him while turning him. Right hand counter by Arroyo as Maldonado is trying to set up a left. Left hook. Right hand over the right jab of Maldonado. Arroyo steps back, using some good parrying defense and slapping Maldonado's jabs aside.

Some fast and loose exchanges here, with Arroyo always landing better. Maldonado is hanging in there, matching Arroyo punch for punch - but he just can't dish it out as well. Arroyo stuffs some MAJOR body shots, left and right uppercuts to the windbag. Maldonado flurries and Arroyo throws a high right hand, over his shoulder. They tie up. Break. Hook by Arroyo backing up. Arroyo has a cut on his right eyebrow, kind of a nasty gash. Maldonado is throwing left uppercuts out of the southpaw stance. Jabs by Arroyo circling out. Quick right hand. Maldonado presses in, pushing out his right jab. Straight combo to the face by Arroyo, and Maldonado lands a right hook. Wide left by Maldonado, countered with a flurry as they come together and clinch.
