This weekend on Showtime/BOXNATION! First fight if anyone missed it... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6K360vtCxU[/ame][ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ096jDG"] [/ame][ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ096jDG-vo[/ame] JuanMa's now saying he wasn't right mentally for the first fight - was having domestic issues and that affected his performance. He also entered camp very heavy. So what do you reckon then? Does Salido just have his number or can Lopez make the necessary improvements to gain revenge and get his title back? On the undercard Mikey Garcia is in against Bernabe Concepcion who if you remember had an exciting 1 round shootout with JuanMa. If Garcia wins he could end up fighting the winner of the main event so a really important fight for him (and he shouldn't have many problems really). Boxnation might also show us some of the other contests on the card, got the Arroyo brothers in action and a few more undefeated guys that I'm not really familiar with.
Salido, I hope. Juanma's always going to be the same fighter. I've seen him do the same **** in other fights, so for him to say he wasn't 'right mentally', sounds like a load of rubbish to me. Salido T/KO late, again!
Nice One Ish, I never saw first fight but let's face it Juanma was a accident waiting to happen. He was becoming ridiculously one dimensional and fought like a spoiled brat when fighters didn't drop to canvas under fire. He was getting clipped and hurt due to his reckless abandon and was going to get beat sooner rather then later and Salido was that lucky man. He finished the job which others couldn't but looking at Salido's struggle against a relative nobody it's made me lean towards Juanma who i'd like to think will be alert and see out the job with a mid-late stoppage. Edit: Within a few moments of watching that video i can see Juanma looks a little heavy. Maybe it's the shorts but he don't look right ..
It was the weight cutting which killed off JuanMa in the first IMO. He was like a Cruiserweight outside of the ring, the fat *******, which is why he and fellow Cruiserweight Cory Spinks both lost their titles to fighters they should have beat. He was weak, and drained, so the punches got to him and he was stopped. Provided he's in good shape, he can win. He was doing well in the first fight until Salido's power told, boxing fairly well and showing a good jab. As long as he doesn't get too trigger happy and boxes fairly safely (or as safe as JuanMa can) keeping his jab going and moving a bit he can use his attributes to beat Salido. Plus Salido himself is vulnerable. If JuanMa picks his spots he could stop Orlando IMO. I'm going for a JuanMa Dec. personally.
JuanMa is one of my favourite active fighters but I think we'll see a repeat of the 1st fight. Lopez has too many flaws to fix & Salido is a bad matchup for him.
I want Lopez to win, the guy may be one dimensional but he always brings excitment, I still want to see him in with Gamboa and the likes in a few more decent big fights before he fades into the background. Anything can happen here though. KO either way, I cant see Lopez soundly outboxing Salido though so he needs to make it a war imo. He could get Ko'd again but i give him a good chance of knocking Salido out as well.
I think the divorce stuff was true, but he'd also fallen in love with his power and was too in love with the heat of battle. I don't think he ever thought someone would take him out first. He's got good skills when he applies them. A decision win for the Puerto Rican.
Marquez gets a late tko, I expect him to be conservative and cautious for the first half of the fight before slowly breaking Salido down and opening up on him.. Could end anywhere from the 9th onward.
One thing that a lot of people are overlooking is JuanMa's boxing ability. Early on e used to box well and let let the power shots come. Then he decided to fall in love with his power and throw bombs from round one. I think JaunMa will box much smarter this time around and take a decision with a few hairy moments along the way
:deal One dimensional he is not, as has been said before, his flaws are more mental than technical, if he stays disciplined he can beat Salido without any great problems. Love to see Juan Ma in a tear up myself though.
Yeah, it's always fun to watch a PR going to war with a Mexican! I can see a Bellew - Ovill 2 type fight
Do you think that was the reason behind his divorce? Sorry, that was bad. I'll forget the jokes from now on.
