It has been officially signed. :happy

    March 1st in San Antonio.

You won't find it on Boxrec just yet, but that is hardly where to verify officialness. :hey

The original poll I made when both fought on the Marquez vs. Bradley undercard recently closed. I hadn't wanted to leave it too open-ended in case they scrambled to get it squeezed in by year's end or not long afterward.

The results were: 31 for Salido (30 by knockout), 91 for Lomachenko (49 by knockout) and 1 draw.

So, time for a new one - with an official cut-off date. :hey

Let's see if mass opinion has changed, or will change as the match-up gets closer and is now real instead of hypothetical fantasy.

Interesting. We already have some consistency (WhamBam voted Salido by stoppage in the October poll and has replicated that here) and some inconsistency (Pez selected Lomachenko on points originally but has now switched to Lomachenko by stoppage)

    :think

Tough as hell to call but I think Loma takes it. Could be a stoppage (in fact part of me thinks it's more likely) but Salido's a tough MFer and I've a feeling he might fight through a beating. FWIW I'm not expecting Loma to come through without a graze or two.

I have no idea who to pick at all. I'd like Loma to win though.

Salido is tough and battle hardened with a remorseless, take no prisoners mentality. Salido has power and can take a shot. He's also slow of hand and foot and somewhat limited at his juncture.

Lomo is untested and inexperienced. The pride of Ukraine is also blazing fast, explosive, and a masterful tactician.

Unless Lomo's chin or stamina betray him, he will outbox and stop Salido late.

So much hype around Lomachenko it's insane. I must admit I don't buy into it at this point. But if he does, in fact, stop Salido or is as dominant as many think he will be, that would be a HUGE statement.

I originally thought Vasilly by KO, but I will bet Vasilly by UD.

This will certainly answer many of our questions regarding Loma.

I'm calling a Lomachenko stoppage just because he's the far better fighter, but Salido is definitely going to be in it and has a shot. Lomachenko didn't look anywhere near as good as he should have in his first fight. Obviously it's his first fight so we can't read too much into it, but he typically looks much more polished than that. If Salido can take him to the trenches it might get real interesting.
