I'm curious what others may think about who would win this fight at the 200 pound cruiserweight limit? I think that Orlin would end up with a very close decision win... I think that Norris was hard to hit cleanly when he was younger and while I love Herbie, I think Orlin's skills are underestimated. Any thoughts....both fighters in their primes of course...
I'll go with a decision win for the other guy, Hide. Even if Herbie runs out of gas late, I don't see Norris being enough of an opportunist in there to get some knockdowns to narrow the scoring, or getting the late stoppage.
Norris. A much, much better fighter. See the Pele Reid fight if you want to see a hard hitting but glass jawed British heavyweight against Orlin.
Norris was the better boxer Hide was fast and hit hard but was erratic ! If Norris avoided the early charge from Hide he stops him late
I think that if the cruiserweight division had been set at 200 when Norris was first around that he would have had a great career in that division. It was 190 and I think that was too hard on his body to make consistently... I don't see him beating Holyfield but he could have had a good reign...after Holy went up
Tough, tough fight. I feel like Hide could risk much more than usual by coming forward and simply slamming Norris with all he got, if he could find him. Herbie typically had to be just a bit smarter with his shots, as he was prone to getting sparked out, but Orlin gives him a lot less to worry about defensively. On the other hand, I think that Norris was a much more skilled fighter, and someone without a brain like Hide could give him a decent bit of room to score points en route to a decent decision. I feel that Herbie just isn't physically strong enough or technically skilled enough to beat The Night Train- Just keep an eye on that leg of his.
still going with Orlin... Hope his health is good as Terry's has not been good at all... would love to find out how Herbie is riding these days
