had to do it Ornelas looked good against Hopkins and won a handful of rounds despite what the judges scorecards say Pavlik looked like crap against Hopkins and didnt win a single round depite what the judges scorecards say Actually, it really is not that bad of a fight for Pavlik to dip his toes in at 168.
Pavlik would hammer him. He did better than Pavlik because he was a bit quicker handspeed and footspeed whereas Pavlik was caught between going forward and back. But when it comes down to it Pavlik/Orenlas is nothing but a fire fight and Pavlik has better punching and more punching. Probably goes the same way as the Zuniga fight.
Ornelus did way better than Pavlik. I thought he won 3, maybe 4 rounds. The scores were too wide. Very good effort for Enrique. But that doesn't mean Ornelus beats Pavlik. I think Pavlik would still stop him unless he's really screwed up from the booze, layoff, infection, etc.
I watched Rubio/Ornales back to back with Pavlik/Taylor 2 a couple of times before the Pavlik/Rubio fight. You could tell both Rubio and Ornales were a step behind in speed and skill. The fight bore this out. All evidence, this included, points to Pavlik not being 100% against Hopkins. I'm not sure why this goes on and on? I guess facts/evidence are just too bothersome some times....
Team Pavlik really has their act together. You can take the rednecks out of the trailer park, but....... YOUNGSTOWN Michael Pavlik, the older brother of middleweight boxing champ Kelly Pavlik, faces a charge of felony domestic violence and abduction. Pavlik voluntarily turned himself in to police early today. He is charged related to a Friday incident with an acquaintance. According to a police report, Pavlik and a 33-year-old woman became involved in a physical altercation at a Cornell Street home just before midnight. The woman told police Pavlik punched her in the eye, threw her into a coffee table and dragged her across the floor. The woman said the fight continued Saturday with more physical confrontation. Pavlik is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Youngstown Municipal Court. Often cited as a member of Team Pavlik, Michael has worked as cornerman, team coordinator and media handler for his brothers boxing enterprise.
this is why i hate that they robbed ornelas of his victory over rubio....he would've gave pavlik a real fight...unlike rubio who got hired to be a cleto reyes punching bag....
This fight is more interesting than one might think at first blush. Ornales and Pavlik have 3 common opponents: McKart, Rubio, and Hopkins. Only two people have ever stopped McKart in his 56 pro fights; Pavlik and Ornales. Of course, Enrique fought Bronco twice, and lost an SD in the first outing. Both fought Rubio. Pavlik made Rubio cry and quit on his stool. Ornales lost an SD to Rubio, but I thought Rubio needed at least a knock down going into the 12th. Hopkins kicked the **** out of both guys; nuff said. Enrique belongs at 160. The main reason he has fought above 160 so many times is that he is one of those guys who has a tough time getting decent fights. The guy is a hard working fighter who gives his all every time out. He deserves a few decent pay days. I'd love to see him put together a string of wins against guys like David Lopez, Sergio Mora, and maybe Zuniga who also belongs at 160. Enrique Ornales would make a good, respecatable, mandatory.
The fact that a significant proportion of voters backed Ornelas just shows you how many blind Pavlik haters there are on this forum.
