I just watched the L.A. press vid that Freddy posted and was cracking up, this kid imo make s a foo out himself but he is young so there's a pass. I couldn't help but noticed that he is like Oscar in the since that he is trying to appeal to the hard core mexicans that loved and followed Chavez but sounds fake as hell, and them he switches onto this "bad boy" mode like Vargas (vargas was a true badass) and also sounds fake ass hell:rofl regardless power to him and it will be a great fight, another throw back fight for Victor, young lion vs old dominant lion, will the crown be taken?

He became more like that after people were talking a lot of ****... before he never talked like that. It's more of him defending himself I think its genuine... it just doesn't go with him since he is a nice kid turned into a serial killer but he is more mature with more experience and a world against me attitude is perfect for his style/

Pleasing the Mexican fans is always good as they are the one paying the bill, and why there are so many stacked mexican cards... and they are playing to Ortiz's mexican side more then the American...

I agree, he was too nice before but since winning the belt he seems to have gotten more of an attitude.
Ortiz shouldnt seek support from mexicans though you cant get away with quitting unless your legendary and mexican, also he is an american, he could be the next Oscar although oscar was more talented and smarter. rios is more like vargas.

A lil, but I don't see it, his whole shtick is forced, a man without a home, not smooth enough to be Oscar, not believable and don't exude the machismo to be Vargas, quite honestly I see him as a kid, happy to be in the spot light, it's not looking good for him.

He acts like oscar and looks like vargas.

I dont see one little speck of similarity in his personality to vargas though. Looks only. Every time he talks I just think of Oscar. Hes the only other person who Ive ever seen in boxing who just comes across in that way..... I dont even know what to describe it as.

It's true, he comes across more as a professional where every word that comes out of his mouth isn't ***** **** and ****.

Its because he talks in a way similair to oscar:
Oscar: *soft voice* I have never been in a fight outside the ring, whenever I got in trouble I was like oh my gosh cant we just get along and thats how I talked my way out of it *smiles*
Ortiz: *soft voice* hey this is what happens in boxing, im like hey you know,in the end I dont believe I deserve to get beaten up like this, hey im young and would like to speak well when im older, thank you sir and congratulations to maidana and hey im sorry people from kansas *smiles*.
Combined with his skills this was why Ortiz was oscars protoge until he quit vs maidana then that position went to canelo.

Canelo is def a stand up guy, but I find that kids in mex the majority at young age can hold a decent conversation with an adult and are more mature than the ones here in the states.
