Dave has the best chin in boxing, will be interesting to see how Ortiz's power fares.

He does have a good chin but doesn't have enough pop in his punches to keep Ortiz off him. I can see the ref jumping in rounds 5-7 to stop a one sided beat down.

I'm not convinced Allen is in the boxing game for the long run or has ambitions to be a top fighter.

Joshua's boxing career is an example of being carefully managed and not thrown in the deep end too soon against opponents who could take his zero away.

Whereas Allen IMO was too inexperienced to jump in the ring with Whyte and way too inexperienced to be getting in the ring for Ortiz.

    He's cashing out early.

Building up the Cuban against a brave, unskilled kid who will be badly out of his depth and maybe seriously hurt, this is an unconscionable mismatch.

    It's disgraceful really.
Allen is a 24-year-old with just 10 pro fights, being reduced to a "cannon fodder" role already.

Actually, apparently David Allen had only 10 AMATEUR fights too !
So his boxing experience is 20 fights, amateur and pro combined, coming off his first pro loss .... and going up against a world class world-ranked seasoned professional (and former seasoned Cuban amateur).

Dave Allen just wants paydays and seems happy to be become a journeyman.

This fight should not be happening. Dave Allen is in for one hell of a beating.

If Allen makes it to the twelve I think we may have another tragic beatdown like the Gutknect and Blackwell fight. I hope I'm wrong.
