He strikes me as quite mentally vulnerable and should be protected from himself.

I doubt we see a long drawn out dull fight like last time from Ortiz, he will want to impress. If he can't get Allen out of there within six then he really isn't much cop.

This is as obvious a mismatch as you'll see a fighter of Ortiz' level of hype in. That said Allen has a testicular fortitude not seen in plenty of other UK heavyweights who claim to be top drawer fighters. David Price. ahem... hem.

He knows he's not good enough to make it at world level so why not cash in on every payday opportunity he gets? Still a brave boy for getting in the ring with Ortiz though as his style is tailor made for Ortiz.

I like Allen as a person. I think we all do. It's good to have guys in the sport being able to talk about mental health problems and the like, plus he's pretty funny.

And because I really like him, I wish he wasn't remotely involved in this fight. It's an absolute mismatch, appalling match making

I cant remember who Allen is trained by but this is one fight that i hope the cornermen bring enough towels, because if they have any sort of care for there lad they need to be resdy to throw it in.
This is out of order ftom Hearn and in the very keast i hope that someone on team Allen has at least tried talking him out of it.
As has been mentioned already he seems a really nice guy and boxing wise hes a real tough cookie with a real desperate dan chin who probably would never turn down any opp.
His team should know better though.
Sometimes these kids are too brave for there own good and need a responsible team around them.
Hearn is just wanting to showcase Ortiz beating someone up.

The BBBoC really need to veto this.

The card should be something like :

    Anthony Joshua v Luis Ortiz
    Dillian Whyte v Dereck Chisora
    Eric Molina v David Price
    David Allen v Ian Lewison

I'd echo most of the above a world level puncher in with a domestic novice with good whiskers to ensure that Malik Scott fight is forgotten, I hope if it goes ahead Allen gets plenty £s for it and escapes with minimal damage

Now that's a decent bill, as it is at the moment only the Chiz vs Whyte bill looks remotely competitive (even though it may end up a tedious 12 round maul)

'If' (haha) Ortiz beats Allen, will he target Nathan Gorman for the Central Area Title (probably more prestigious than that WBA Interim 'title' he's held twice) ?

The good thing is this is only 8 rounds, the worst thing about this for Allen is not only is he gunna be in there with King Kong. He's gunna be in there on short notice with a King Kong who has a point to prove.
That can only spell danger for him.

If Haye announced Allen for his next fight he would get hated on and have all sorts of bile and abuse thrown at him.....
