Maidana is hell for anybody. Kotelnik made no impact on him at all and he just kept up the pace, punching hard, hurt his man. He was just out outskilled, just.

Ortiz had the power to hurt him, but as we know Ortiz is one of the hardest punchers in the division and he still didn't truely have him on the brink despite landing at a high %.

This guy has no skill, little speed, but he has some kind of awkward accuracy with his right hand and strange power. I don't know where that type of power comes from. Freaky.

    Damn right

I never saw Maidana before this fight but i never was comfy on Ortiz winning because of stuff i read and heard and i saw clips of Ortiz and thought ummmm he good but not anything special.

His heart aint fully in the sport in my opinion Maidana's willing to live on his back Ortiz aint and that's difference in fights like that.

Ortiz did fight poorly though. His jab wasn't even there, that should be staple diet against a less skilled opponent. He got too preoccupied with brawling, must have fallen in love with his power.

Even if he fought a better gameplan...his heart and toughness would be his undoing against this type of opponent.

Maidana is a bad ass, I'm a new fan.

Agreed,He has defensively floors and i seen people in general forum say after last fight he needs Roach and he to loyal to his trainer and that's cost him. He will have to live and learn.

    Maidana's A Beast!!!

Yep..no shocks here. Lontchi is no Maidana.

The funny thing is...Ortiz was supposed to fight Kotelnik, wasn't he? They might have beat Kotelnik too. But then the German promoters offer him 'the guy that lost to Kotelnik' and they lap it up...easy fight.

They build him up as the new star of boxing - the next De La Hoya.

    BOOM!
