But Berto's also easier to hit, less experienced, doesn't have the ring IQ, doesn't have as many tricks...etc...etc...

It may be true. But it is not strghnth or speed that makes Floyd Floyd. It's his skills and intelligence. In a certain light, this is actually a compliment from Ortiz.

 

I'm pretty sure Vic beleives Berto is more powerful than Lamont Peterson as well, didn't stop Peterson from outboxing Vic, picking him apart and buckling his legs.

ONly difference is that ortiz had 20+ pounds on Peterson.

 

Berto is probably stronger but without a doubt isn't faster.

 

Any other fighter with heart would have gotten up and pleaded their case to the ref. Hell, Cintron was KO'd by Martinez and he still got up to complain and plead his case, making the fight continue.

 

Even when Cortez was counting? That's kind of Judah-ish using the I was hit in the balls excuse against Kahn.

 

Stronger I can believe easily.

Berto is a bigger,more muscular guy than Floyd.

Berto is a very bih welterweight,while Floyd is a small welterweight.

Faster is a bit more unlikely,although Berto is fast,hes just kinda wild,whereas Floyd is deadly accurate.
