That somebody needs to find a different career. It's one of the most hamfisted attempts I've ever seen.

Almost as if they had already written it for Wilder or Miller and just didn't bother changing it.

Ortiz is a credible threat to anyone. Even now.

Lies. Eddie hearn specifically said they will only be fighting Ortiz if the Chisora fight falls through. THATS a duck

Hearn said they’ll only be fighting Ortiz if the Chisora fight doesn’t happen. It’s Whyte who doesn’t have the balls

So because Whyte said it, it must be so? How much did he ask for that’s considered silly money? How similar was it to how much Parker got?

If Whyte ends up fighting and beating Ortiz then he'll have a fairly stacked resume:

    Chisora
    Parker
    Browne
    Helenius
    Ortiz

Can't really knock the guy if that happens, even Chisora again is a decent fight considering he could sit out and await his mandatory. If he fights and beats Ortiz then he is going to be a contender for FOTY, maybes not enough to win it but up there, been a very solid year for Whyte.

I think Ortiz should win but the old man might get tired like he did against wilder and let White back into the fight . He possibly stops whyt e in 8 rounds for me.

So Ortiz has a chance to fight on the undercard of Fury v Wilder or main event in London.

    Should be a simple decision

Considering Ortiz has almost no fan base and his biggest payday is 500K it wouldn't take much for it to be regarded as a silly money.

Parker in comparison even excluding the Joshua fight where he made millions, made 1.5 mill vs Hughie Fury and is a PPV fighter in NZ and makes similar money to Wilder per fight. So if Ortiz was asking for more than 500K or a similar payday to what Parker got vs Whyte then he's pricing himself out.

But fact is we don't know how much he was asking for, just because Whyte said he asked for silly money doesn't mean it's true. Fact is Ortiz isn't on the top of anyone's list for an opponent, too much risk too little money.

So they can call each other out as much as they like, I've seen nothing from either side to suggest they want the fight. Whyte isn't going to risk a rematch vs Joshua being scuppered by losing to Ortiz and Ortiz isn't going to risk a rematch with Wilder by losing to Whyte.

But having said that only one of them is taking on risky fights right now. Whyte just fought Parker and Chisora who is likely next was unlucky not to get the decision first time round. Ortiz in comparison fought Cojanu and isn't going to be fighting anyone decent anytime soon. Joyce is a more likely a good fight for him next but I don't expect that to happen this year.

"so because _____ said it it must be true?"

you do realize how hypocritical you are being right?

apparently it was in the range of 2 million GBP, but not confirmed.

Lol if that's true, he might as well have asked for the moon, 2 mill is crazy. Ortiz probably hasn't earned much more than 2 mill for every fight he's had as a pro combined. He got 500K for a title shot and he expects 4 times as much for a non title fight?

Hopefully this isn't true because if he wants 2 mill fight isn't ever happening.

Ortiz is Haymon's *****. He's gonna end up ducking Whyte and fighting for peanuts on the undercard.
Someone **** like Travis Kauffman or Mansour.

how is that hypocritical? Its not as if Ortiz has said "Whyte isnt going to fight me, he'll fight Chisora instead", its Whyte's own promoter.
