I'm pretty sure he is very capable of beating Duran at least 1 time if they fought 3 times, Carlos Ortiz has become a very underrated boxer nowadays.
He is rarely mentioned here, eventhough you could make a claim for him being the Puerto Rican goat, top 5 lightweight ever (take in mind the dept of the division), and check out his great resume:
    - Flash Elorde x2
    - duilio x3
    - Ismael Laguna x3
    - Vaillant
    - Locche
    - Bizzarro
    - Lane x3
    - sugar ramos x3
    - Busso x2
    - Buchanan

He was also traveling all over the place for fights, his 135/140 resume is better than Durans at lightweight.
Good balance, outside work, good jab, accurate punches, timing and pacing, good stamina.
I think he would do vert well early vs Duran but eventually get forced into duran's fight and takes punishment, a lot to the body for rounds.
Eventually losing a decision over 15 rounds, if he had great power things might be different, I think Ortiz could very well beat Duran, I mean he is better than dejesus but to be honest I do favour manos de piedra.

I dont get why Ortiz is so overlooked though in general.
Also funny fact, Ortiz and Duran were actually scheduled to fight back when duran had beaten buchanan, Ortiz was in his mid/late 30's while Duran was still kind of green entering his prime.
It was supposed to be a title fight then got switched to the undercard of ali vs floyd patterson.
The fight never happened though, from what I read Duran's handlers kept him away because they thought carlos was to dangerous ( I dont know for sure though, but im pretty sure Duran would never duck).
Still would have been interesting to see what would have happened.

Decent stuff, but not EVT winning caliber stuff. Follow the EVT winning thread protocols and slowly but surely you'll get there.

I didnt say he did, just mentioned the guys he fought on his resume, sure he has some losses but overall his opposition is damn good.
I have to say though that I thought he beat locche about as clearly as marquez beat pac the last time (based on what ive read and that 5 min clip of course), getting a draw in locche's hometown.
