God, I hope they don't call me a ***** for seeing this rationally. It's actually only maybe the 2nd thread about money I post in.
this i agree with. floyd likes to pop in a punch then grab quickly. he likes to dip way low where he's unhittable. he's just very very fluid at it but he does it.
Truth be told I'm not the biggest PBF fan here, his flossing, **** talk to an ancient SSM, and other antics are tired. That being said he handled a dirty fighter in Ortiz the right way, he retaliated within the rules masterfully. You know damn well if the roles were reversed everyone in their momma would be applauding Ortiz for taking out a cheater. Ortiz and Ortiz alone is to blame for this situation and I hope he gets jaw shattered again.
I'm on the iPhone now so excuse any errors. - My logic is not flawed. Your understanding of what I'm trying to say, is flawed. - I believe Abraham did not know Dirrell was on the floor when he hit him unexpectedly. But if he's seen as classless, then so to should Mayweather for knowing Victor was not defending himself, and hit him anyway. Both Dirrell and Victor weren't expecting anything, but the former was hit accidentally, and the latter purposefully. This is the criteria I've used to determine their class and sportsmanlike behaviour. I'm not disputing whether it was legal or not. Just my personal opinion on what's class and what isn't. Understood? - I'm not disputing Victor's stupidity. - I wasn't aware that Cortez did indeed call time. From looking at the videos, I've been under the impression he confused himself, which was why he went back to the timekeeper and took his eyes off the action.
You are missing the point, Ortiz got Dirty and Floyd sent a message and retaliated, if you wanna talk about the cheapshots he took at Gatti and/or Mosley which are applauded by some, fine that is fair. In this case he was in with a dirty fighter who butted him numerous times and who after the big butt threw his own illegal cheapshots while Floyd was talking to Cortez (honestly Victor should've been DQ'd once again). My question is this, why should Floyd be dissed for giving Ortiz a taste of his own medicine, when it was obviously well deserved?
And I should also make it clear that I am not holding Mayweather responsible to anything illegal. I recognise that what he did was within the bounds of rules. I'm merely saying that it was a classless move. That's all. Legal, but classless.
Would you also agree that the actions of Victor Ortiz removed those unwritten rules of "class and sportsmanship?" At that point, getting all sorry and apologetic was as fake as Victor is, seriously. Ortiz knew EXACTLY what he was doing, and was only "acting" sorry to save face because he got caught red handed doing some dirty ****. I don't see how any man, ANY, could sit here and say they wouldn't have been looking to take Victor's head off. I would have straight up punched when he tried to hug the first time. **** all that bull****, he just tried to purposely injure me with a headbutt, and I'm supposed to hug? Sure... At that point, after all his intentional fouls, **** is personal. **** all that other "be a sportsman" bull****. Self preservation at that point.
So, whats the problem? He fought dirty and got ktfo while he was off guard because of it, he made his bed, he has to sleep in it. I f Floyd gets his ass whooped I won't have a problem with it, in fact I wanted Mosley to shut him up last year.
I understand what you're trying to say, and your logic is flawed. If you want to tell me that Abraham hit Dirrell on accident and therefore he isn't classless, that makes sense. However, it doesn't make sense to say that if you call Abraham classless that you have to call Mayweather classless. The situations aren't similar enough. I understand that your personal opinion makes little sense. You're comparing two situations where the situatuins are too dissimilar. You also can't simply ignore the rulebook. That doesn't mean you can't stay within the rules and still be classless and/or exhibit unsportsmanlike conduct. However, to simply ignore the rules seems silly. Well, now you know Cortez called time in, and now you know why he was looking at the timekeeper. The round had restarted. Ortiz had already apologized, and they had already touched gloves. Ortiz had every right to defend or not defend himself and Mayweather had every right to throw a punch. This is a fight. The point is to inflict as much damage as possible on your opponent, within the rules. Mayweather broke no rules, he didn't even bend a rule.
Give it up dude... Everyone is ignoring you. I saw it, and so did a lot of others. But the Floyd haters act like the **** never happened.
atsch That punch you guys are talking about did nothing. Yet you WANT guys to be outraged over a minor incident in the bigger picture.
Yes I agree, I would have done the same, and I wouldn't have any problems with anyone calling me classless.
Benns Hair grazed Geralds face. No way did that clash of heads cause the damage that night. The damage was caused by the bomb Benn was landing all night.
