I firmly believe Wilder isn't good enough and his power is over rated.... we will finally get to see in just over 6 weeks.
I'm no Wilder fan, but Ortiz is overrated - probably in his 40's now 'officially', Wilders youth will see him win.
Ortiz is not a great athlete but is a fairly skilled counter puncher and body puncher which could prove pivotal in this fight, If wilder lets his hands go he is is vulnerable. However, I do feel Wilders athletic ability, speed, reach and power could offset Ortiz's better technical skill. It's a great HW matchup that should gel quite well, credit to both.
It comes down to Ortiz's chin. If he can take Deontay's shots he'll definitely land something significant on Wilder at some point and that mandible sure as hell won't stay intact. He hasn't faced any big punchers tho, the best indication might be that Scott headbutt that seemed to stun him a bit lol.
I see Wilder getting KOed, not Ortiz. Wilder's wild windmill technique is ideal for a dangerous counter puncher like Ortiz. He'll see an opening from Wilder due to his amaterish windmill technique & drop his candy ass.
Wilder would have to play keep away this whole fight. He wings his shots too wide, so far Ortiz has shown decent defense, good quick straight shots, an inside game and a good chin. I've been waiting to see Wilder fight someone that can fire straight down the pipe to counter the wide ****, Unbelievable that as long as he has been a pro, this is literally the first guy.
I am leaning towards Wilder winning by late KO, after losing many rounds. Will not be surprised if Ortiz outboxed and stops Wilder late though. Most people rate Wilder at Joshua, Fury and Wlad's level, but his poor performances against low level fighters does not reflect this rating.
