If you've seen Floyd fight above 130, he does not avoid getting hit. He knows now to brace for those big shots. YouTube him, and see if its only southpaws that hit Floyd. Floyd disappears later in fights, but he stands his ground 99.9% of the time. A lot of guys don't want to get caught up in a jabbing contest. Floyds speed forces them to be aggressive because they cent outbox Floyd. Ortiz is dangerous because he's big, and he is a converted southpaw fighter. He knocked Berto down with a left hook I believe. I think threw two left hooks if I'm not mistaken. I just remember Ortiz being off balance when he floored Berto. Ortiz's style is perfect for Floyd to shine, but he's dangerous because he doesn't jab, and he can use either hand. He's tailormade for Floyd, but Ortiz comes from one of those deep, dark places called "idontgivea****aboutyou", and Floyd has to be ready.
Correction. What Ortiz did was throw two lefthooks, and he landed the second lefthook from the southpaw stance which looked crazy because he was trading.
I can't sit around and call Floyd a ***** because this fight hasn't been made yet. They are both still show to make this fight. When the fight finally isn't made, and both retire, maybe I'll have a change of heart.
If Ortiz catches Floyd like Mosley did ... Do you think Ortiz is able to finish him off? I get the feeling Floyd although rarely gets his chin tested has a solid chin and great recovery.
100% agreement with Gooners on everything he's been alluding to. This will NOT be an easy fight for Floyd. It's actually a pretty dangerous fight for him. When was the last time Floyd ever fought a big, strong, hungry, and young southpaw fighter with big punching power? Floyd is doing so now after being out of the ring for a pretty long layoff, after having several mini retirements & vacations over his career, and surviving through a bunch of random legal issues up until recently. He's also got the shadow of the Pacquiao fight looming over him and everybody questioning his fortitude about that everywhere he goes. Even Roger has spoken about his nephew's inactivity issues. Floyd is a human being, after all. Let's face it: Floyd Mayweather is pushing 35 years old. After viewing every one of his fights, he has slowed down just a bit these days as far as I can tell and he has not thrown combinations at all for the past few years. This is a fight where his one shot power will be put up to a measuring stick. It will determine whether or not he can do what he usually does to Ortiz with any success, or if he will have to go to another gear that we haven't seen in a while. I can see Vic imposing his will enough in this fight to force Floyd into fighting in a way that is unconventional for him. If Vic can deal with getting countered clean in the process (because he WILL be countered a lot), then I do see a moment of truth being revealed at some point in this fight where Floyd will have to get some respect. This is going to be a very interesting bout for sure. The only thing that can stop this fight from being intriguing is if it's fixed somehow, which I doubt is the case. Victor knows this is his shot. He will bring it to Floyd with a fury.
I'll keep preaching as long as you keep making threads about fixed fights to cover up how wrong you were, coward.
