Do you remember when he was whispering in Danny Garcias ear in like the 5th of 6th round? That was clearly when his Jaw was first broken probably a hairline fracture I would assume.

Then, it seems to me that Josesito must have finished shattering the bone at the end of the 9th round. With that thundering left hook.

This means that Victor deserves credit, for fighting with a broken Jaw for least 3 or 4 rounds. Wining most of those rounds in the process. If you remember he was Jabbing away and making space between him and Lopez. Josesito was not having any of that and cotinued to close that distance.

All this quitter talk, is ****ing horrible. Most of you **** talkers, would never have lasted that long or even fought on at all. Victor is a smart kid and he did what was in his best interest, in order to preseve what is left of his career. His corner failed him and I would drop Danny if I was Victor.

They should have saved him from himself and the embarresment of having to stop the fight himself. They would not stop the fight, which is ****ing horrible. Victor had to call the referee over and stop the fight himself. Which must have been extremely humbling and embarresing.

    Congratulations to Josesito Lopez.

    Bring on:

    Lopez vs. Bailey!!!!

    Good fights this weekend.

Yup Ortiz would not have quit if he could have had continued, his jaw was ****ed up man another few shots like the one in the 9th could have ended his career.

Now that you mention it, I did see the trickle of blood from the mouth early aswell.
    I gotta see it again.

That doesnt mean it was his jaw, that could have been his sternum, Ortiz said his jaw got broke early in round 9.

    I forgot about that too.

The sternum is a strong ass bone, Lopez must hit freakishly hard to damage Victors strenum.

During heart surgery 2 doctors crak that bone with the equivalent of a hatchet before performing surgery.

Maybe victor has a calcium deficiency.

Good point but he started spitting that dark blood early in the fight.

That dark blood could simply have been a cut, Look at delahoya vs Chavez 2 no broken jaw but some dark black ass blood.
The sternum was the problem I believe Josesito was belting him to the body, the entire night my wife kept saying I think the body shots are getting to him more, doing more damage.

I kept saying in response, I think everybody I can think of forgot to factor in Ortiz's Chin and heart, vs Josesitos Chin and Heart, we all based a winner in this fight off of Ortizs power:-(

Anyways she was right, a broken sternum was the result of those wicked body shots. either way it happens in boxing, Ortiz would not be as criticized had he given his team and himself one round, give them the opportunity to adjust the fight plan and see if it works after all it wasnt just You in the gym putting in work for nearly 2 and a half training camps

Had Ortiz give at least one more round, I dont think anybody here would be saying much, its like what Cus Damato said, Whats the difference between a hero and a coward?

Nothing they are both the same inside, but its what the hero does that makes him a hero and what the coward doesnt do that makes him a coward

I think we can all agree he took a massive beating no matter how we analyze it.

unfornutately he did not feel he had one more round in him

I said after the third round if anybody gets knocked out it would be Victor,
    Josesito is built for boxing

I have been to several Lopez fights out in Ontario Double Tree in, he and Bradley had the same promoter back in the day. and Honestly I thought Ortrees was going to stump this kid.

I have seen Lopez dropped by a lesser fighter cant remember his name, but assumed Ortiz may have too much power, plus Lopez liked to mix it up and bang it out and doesnt have a great defense I figured Ortiz would exploit that which he did in spots.

I just think some were early Ortiz was tagged with solid shots, shots that make a fighter say what the **** was that, where did he get that from. and in that moment we saw Ortiz start to slide over to the dirty side.

I my wife was like here we go again, she started calling for Lopez to get dirty with Ortiz, and at that point everything that I denied about Ortiz, well I could no longer deny it.

Kid is mentally weak, when the heat is up, he starts to look for ways out, and I honestly think he wanted out of that fight long before his jaw was broke I think Ortiz started to question himself in that fight early.......
