Exactly. This is an old school tactic that Floyd employs often. People need to do their homework.

He's really good at it too. I like the move when he all of a sudden steps into his opponent, uses the forearm to give him enough space and comes right back with that quick left hook or right uppercut to the body.

Tell you something else that he did that was pretty cool in retrospect:

Hugs Zab at the beginning of the 12th and pushes off of him afterwards to create space. Better believe he didn't forgot that nut shot.

Mayweather barely used his elbows in this fight surprisingly, Mayweather taunts is what got him, every time he threw a flurry Mayweather shook his head, no as in nothing landed, a lil before the headbutt he even grabbed while Ortiz was in the middle of a combo he grabbed head with his gloves, and smirked at him, and after that the headbutt, Mayweather was simply in his head at that point, and had little to no respect for Ortiz so called one punch KO power

Fore arm elbow, when you are getting hit with it, it is kind of hard to distinguish the two

OMG.. If you think that is illegal you do not know boxing. He used the elbow to block the hook from Ortiz. That is a legal move. Mayweather is not "striking" Ortiz with the elbow, he is using it to parry/block an incoming punch.

Archie Moore would like to have a word with you. :-(

We are talking about the Ortiz fight. People made the claim that Mayweather used his elbows to strike Ortiz with and then you provide "evidence" by posting up old fights.

Majority of that was legal btw. When the ref got upset was when he lead with the forearm to the grill. Not when he was using it to create space from an opponent smothering him.
