hatton kept floyd busy during there fight but didn't have the strength on the inside to impose himself and land his shots. ortiz however unlike hatton is a fully fledged welter weight and is stronger, hits harder and has faster hands than ricky hatton. i can see him giving floyd plenty of problems.

I'm quite a big Hatton fan but he was a KO waiting to happen against Floyd.

I'm not even sure if Vic hits Harder than Hatton. Hatton's body shots were murderous, Cortez wouldn't let him fight on the inside fair enough but i don't think that would have mattered too much

I love Ortiz and you see i started a thread saying Ortiz was a southpaw version of Ricky Hatton. I do think there the same but Ricky wnet for the body which the ref would not allow to happen were Ortiz doesnt so that may work in his favour! People forget how good Ricky was and undeafeted in 46+ fights with some greats knock out on the way and look at the way he got knocked out against floyd. I predicted a desicion for Floyd but would not be shocked of he knocked out Ortiz. On the same note i do think at some stage in this fight Ortiz will put Mayweather down at some stage.

yes, but he needs to accomplish a lot more before he can even be compared to Hatton.

I don't think they're the same at all. hatton jumped on guys and smothered them, Ortiz is more of a technician who stays at arms length much more. While is agree that Ortiz is bigger and stronger than Hatton and a bigger puncher, i think he's also easier to counter than Hatton was because he gives his opponents more space to do so.

Ortiz has no body work, Floyd will avoid his head shots like he does everyone else. He will grab on as soon as Ortiz gets close, land a couple of shots, grab on again.....that's how it goes.

    hell naw

hatton was good, he feinted, had great footwork and was fast.

ortiz is a quitter who fought bertoe like margarito, with no defense just going forward and throwing punches.

Really generic comparison. Just because they are both aggressive, it doesn't mean they fight that much alike. It's like saying Hagler is a bigger, stronger version of Whitaker because they are both southpaws with great jabs who like to use the ring.

At no time did hatton have floyd in any kind of trouble or problems

Floyd let hatton come forward all night

hatton was great at light welter, never fought at welter weight. hattons stature doesn't compare to ortiz's. if ortiz can muscle his way on the inside im sure he can do some damage!

its unny how some people are ignoring the fact that moneys last three fights were against hatton(a light welter) marquez(a light weight) mosley( past his prime).

ortiz is at his peak, fully fledged wlter weight and hits hard.
