He said 'let's go' with both fighters in a neutral corner, motioning to them to fight. That means fight. I didn't know about either of those incidents. I hate the little ****er even more now. i never liked him, primarily for the way he acts and how he: 1. Quit vs Maidana and then acted like it was okay. 2. Played the victim when people made fun of him for being a quitter. 3. Ran away from Nate ****ing Campbell. 4. Just sucked major donkey balls against Peterson. 5. Took his foot off the gas down the stretch vs Berto (that fight was nowhere near as exciting as it's made out to be) 6. Constantly brings up his childhood, which nobody gives a **** about. Go talk to Edison Miranda and Ricardo Mayorga, *****. And then I read this interview from Robert Garcia, who I consider a g and a credible, nice guy: http://fighthype.com/pages/content10772.html Ortiz is the exact sort of guy I have a problem with. Only cares about himself and willing to throw anyone else under the bus to become successful. Lies about his own father to try to make himself seem like a hard man when in reality he's just a spoiled little *****. And then he pulled this stunt last night and still tries to make himself out to be the victim. That apologizing and kissing was cringeworthy and I'm glad Mayweather put a stop to it. The only time a fighter is that overly sportsmanlike is when he knows he's ****ed up and is scared of the consequences. In other words, he was being a coward. And now I find out he's done this **** before, against inferior opponents no less. The guy is a ****up and I wish him the absolute worst in life.
Upon another review of the fight, Ortiz's behavior seems even more inexplicable than it did when I watched it live. Mayweather looks ready to resume fighting the moment he steps out of the corner, and pauses when Victor apologizes and adds the embrace. This after he had already touched gloves with Ortiz as he was making his way to the neutral corner. He then brings his hands up into guard position (a clear signal to Ortiz that he should do the same, especially after he had whispered "let's do this" to Mayweather) connects with the hook...And then pauses, sees the opening when Ortiz refuses to lift his hands and ends matters with the right. Mayweather was under no obligation to accept the Ortiz apology, having already done so. So why was it offered in the first place!? And why wouldn't Ortiz have expected Floyd to retaliate when he had repeatedly using his head as a weapon not only throughout the round, but during the course of the entire fight!? Somewhere along the way, the wires crossed...just like they did when he was DQ'd against Alacron.
If you heard the press conference Ortiz mentions this:deal, saying earlier in his career he was DQ for something similar. He believe he learn his lesson for that fight and not repeating it over, thats one of the reasons he was waiting for Cortez to give them the signal. Apparently what he thought he learn for that lost was the total opposite. Either way Floyd hit the panic button and had bad intentions even looking at Cortez who was not looking and quickly threw the sucker punch...
No. Ortiz isn't saying **** except he 'learned a lesson'. It's everyone who watched the fight and paid 70 bucks to see it end on a sucker punch that's saying **** about it.
I'm not talking about what he said in the press conference. I'm talking about what he said in the immediate interview with Merchant, right after the meltdown between Mayweather and Merchant. His first gut reaction to the very first question asked was to cast aspersions. I'm addressing that.
I really think he regreted being such an ******* with the headbutt and he was guilty and confused from that point on. He knew he acted as a complete bum and knew everyone saw it. But he's the one who started all that, I blame him almost entirely for what happened.
Your right he is. That headbutt has because he was being ******ed thinking he will KO Floyd in 1 Round and " To his surprise " he couldn't. So he got a little pissed off and headbutted. ( actually, A video I saw revealed 3 headbutts overall. That is wrong, yet he is whining about Floyd using shoulders. So he says sorry three times, starts to look like a suck up and then Money schooled him. Sure the Suckerpunch was disrespectful and wrong to do, unsportsmanlike ect. But he was too busy kissing Floyd to fight. But Floyd haters are too angry about the damn Sucker punch to see what Ortiz did. Both bad. But Ortiz's action was illegal.
Otiz isn't really complaining about it. From I've gathered out of the post fight reaction, he believes it was unfair, but things like that happen in boxing and he won't dwell on it. If he's done it in the past himself, I bet he won't be making too much of it.
Probably true. Doesn't erase a win via suckerpunch. that's the bottom line and what goes on the record and the history books.
Here's Ortiz right after the fight: This content is protected Smiling and continues to be apologetic to Floyd after he got ambushed. This guy does not deserve to be fighting at the top level.
