Ortiz is a Glass Jawed Quitter who has quit multiple times. Why are you asking this question? :huh

My thing is. None of you are professional boxers, with families. Neither am I. You have no right to call someone a quitter, Im sure many of you have quit many things that DIDNT endanger your family or your health. **** is crazy how many people feel so confident calling someone a quitter that is taking part of a game you know nothing about. Thats bull****.

You get in the ring, you go take a right hand to the eye 11 times. See how long you want to deal with that ****.

Our computer age gives to many people balls. People are literally "all talk" nowadays.

    Pity

Mike Alvarado was getting his ass beat.

Victor Ortiz quit in two fights that he was actually winning.

    big difference.

LOL. Please don't insult Alvarado's heart by comparing it to Victoria.

Here's the difference: Against Maidana, that ***** Ortiz quit because the going got tough. He knocked Chino down several times, yet Chino kept getting up and started beating Vic up. Ortiz's ***** ass couldn't handle somebody taking his best, and fighting back, so he quit.

Same thing against Lopez. Ricky Burns fought the MAJORITY of the fight with a broken jaw against Beltran, yet the ***** Ortiz couldn't do it for a round.

Ortiz simply cannot handle pain, nor advertising.

With Alvarado, Provo was beating him within an inch of his life, and he was put in a HORRIBLE situation by weeks, where he had to retire on the stool to basically SAVE HIS LIFE.

Provo is exactly the type of fighter who's capable of killing a man in the ring. Alvarado had NOTHING left, and was getting beaten from pillar to post. Had he gone out for 11th, he might have been killed.

Ortiz was never in any danger of being killed against Maidana, and Lopez. He simply couldn't deal with the adversity.

So....... I say to the thread starter....... play in traffic. You're a **** ****.

Yeah I agree with most of the above posts, Victor had the stigma of being a quitter since the maidana fight, a fight he was very much in but couldn't handle the fact that maidana ate his best shots and got back up and knocked victor down mentally that was too much for him so he quit. Against Floyd no one is totally sure what happened but he seemed fine with getting KO'd in the post fight press conference so that was another blow to his reputation, Lopez he was in a fight he was ahead on, however his jaw was broke you can't hate the man for that. Its just we hold prizefighters to such a high standard to be that of an Ali who fought against Ken Norton for 15 rounds with a broken jaw. Alvarado on the other hand is a proven warrior and with the punishment he had already absorbed up to that point not many could label him a quitter. His corner should have stopped it and he could of been seriously injured if the bout went on. Mike had absolutely nothing left and was literally running away from provo at times. The way provo hits he could have permanently injured alvarado

Alvarado was physically done and had nothing left. He was badly hurt there.

Ortiz gave up mentally in a situation where many fighters DOES go on.

Alvarado had to dig real deep in his 3 latest fights. Ortiz NEVER did that.

There is a difference! BIG difference.

Neither are quitters, what Alvarado is supposed to risk serious injury and fight on, same with Ortiz his jaw was broken FFs he didn't want to damage himself permanently

People who don't think ortiz was getting his **** pushed in in the maidana fight don't know what they were watching. He was taking a beating, eating straight bombs and it was going to get worse.
