The good thing about this is his performance warrants a rematch. He was ahead on all 3 cards. Btw, we would have to add Kostya Tszyu, V. Klitschko, Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali to name a few, to the list of quitters. I don't think that will happen.

More of a man than AA ? I don't think so.

Was he smarter then AA ? Maybe, that's subjective.

Anyway, AA is still fighting today and that fight hasn't affected his health on a long run. Moreover, he's gained respect and that fight is the first accomplishment that comes to mind when you hear Arthur Abraham.

Forced to continue ? If he truly wanted to stop, he would just stop, what the **** is forced to continue ? You think he's a 8 yo kid ? He did whatever he wanted to do.

Lol the people on here who dare call Ortiz a *****, quitter, etc. are the ones who are OUT OF TOUCH with the realities of boxing. . . I hate to be that guy who says "YDKSAB because you've never boxed," but seriously, in this particular instance, it tends to be the guys who have never stepped in a boxing ring who are quick to call him a puto, and a coward, etc. . .

The Maidana fight was like four years ago. . . I can understand the criticism there, but really, even in that fight he gave us a HELL OF AN ENTERTAINING SCRAP, and he just was beat - mentally, and physically. . . Was about ot be stopped anyway. . .

SINCE THE MAIDANA FIGHT, he's shown how though he can be in the ring - THE BERTO FIGHT! Jesus, he got ROCKED so many times, but just kept coming back stronger.

The Mayweather fight - he just acted like a dumbass. . and ended up paying for it. . .

THEN LAST NIGHT, against Lopez, he gives us YET ANOTHER FOTY type scrap. . . Breaks some ****ing bones, and doesn't want to risk his permanent health? YEAH, WHAT A *****!

It reminds me of when Dan Rafael was talking **** about Briggs for getting hospitalized. . . Just shows how FAT DAN is clueless, and insensitive on the dangers of boxing. . .

Same with Ortiz haters. . . They have NO IDEA what it's like to be in the ring, and to have your health (FOREVER) brought into question.

One shot changed it all. He was beating the **** outta Lopez and than the wild exchange. You have to develop the skill and will to know how to fight in these situations and Victor hasn't!

i dont blame him for quitting, it was a bad injury. i do think that the decision to do so, is just going to add to the mounting evidence that ortiz just doesnt have a fighters heart. he is an athlete who happens to box instead of a fighter who competes in boxing.

If Vic never quit against Maidana, him quitting last night over a broke jaw wouldn't even be an issue I think.
He gets a pass on this one IMO. Who the fuk gonna fight through a broke jaw? 90% of fighters would have quit.

its amazing that people keep focusing on the injuries and not his pattern of behavior and unstable mental state. the jaw will heal. but that kid has problems.

What do u mean? Like how he mentally, and physically dominated Berto?

Got up from two devastating knock downs, and continued to make him his personal lil *****?

Ohhhh, nevermind, you're jus taking about his first high-profile fight with Maidana ike 4 years ago. . .

I think the issue is a lot of ex boxers (pundits) said he was mentally weak for quitting with a broken jaw. Personally I think he is entertaining and I would watch him fight again. I am not judging him at all. People will watch to see if he suffers another upset & his career is not done.

Lets get confirmation that his jaw is broke someone was able to damn near give a full interview look how long it took before they figured out that their story was a broken jaw, we may need to put some ice on it, that didnt happen until he got to the dressing room with a broken jaw you would think they would have done that first thing
