I hope hes not 'ruined' so to speak. Hes young but honestly, the guy has taken a lot of punishment in his short career, injuries, layoffs. I hope he looks good against Collazo... but at the same time it would be nice if Collazo could score a big win like this. Prime Collazo imo could/would beat Ortiz.... but hes past it himself, and Ortiz should have enough to get the W without much trouble. Once he wins this one, theres plenty out there for him. Lopez 2 (must avenge this loss) Khan (badass fight, and a big fight for both) those would be the two that would be on my agenda for 2014 if Im GBP. Anyways, Im glad hes back... fun fighter.
I agree with pretty much everything in this post. Going strictly by the numbers, Collazo should be a slight favorite in this one. He's a skillful, seasoned southpaw who is coming off three straight victories, while his opponent is coming off 2 straight KO losses, a broken jaw, and a 1.5 year layoff. The reality, however, is that Collazo has had trouble making 147 for a really long time(if you can believe that) and all the years of cutting weight has clearly affected him. Luis simply doesn't have the pop to make the jaw an issue and won't have the energy or the work rate to catch the judges' attention. Ring rust aside, Victor should be able to exploit Collazo's lethargy and outhustle him all night.
Hard one to call this. Judging from recent interviews Ortiz is not right upstairs. Looking forward though. Ortiz is good to have in the sport.
Yeah its sad but its true, Collazo cant punch to save his life except if your name is Hatton only than he can hurt you . I get the feeling Ortiz is somehow ruined and lost that fire/desire he had a couple of years back . Well... We will only know for sure when he gets into the ring with Collazo . I expect Ortiz win via points on agression . Will this fight take place @ 140 or 147 ?
