They both kind of acted like assholes.

That said, it was a more intriguing fight than I expected. Yeah, Floyd was outclassing Ortiz (shocking!), but I don't think Ortiz was getting blown out of the water necessarily.

And the ending...well...at least it was interesting.

When Floyd did it to Gatti and Mosley, it was no problem. In fact, Lamply agreed that Floyd did the right thing in the Mosley fight, saying "This is no time to talk, its time to fight.". Why is Floyd being criticized now? If anything, this was the one time where his actions were justified. Just so happens that this time around somebody had to go to sleep. I just can't understand how people get on here and spend all their time and effort hating on this man. Why do you let Floyd make you so mad. The man has his own life and he lives it, you should do the same. Don't judge hin for what he does in a particular situation while you are on the other side of the screen, because you may have very well done the same thing. It's a fight. Fighters mentally prepare to go to war. When you are in the heat of battle, you are zoned in. If anything, that proved the level of focus Floyd has. He was aware that time was in and cortex waved them on. When the clock is running, its time to fight. Ortiz should have got the memo instead of hugging and kissing a man he just INTENTIONALLY HEADBUTTED. It's the same thing in football. If the defense gets caught slipping, the qb hikes the ball. Ortiz hand were down while the time was in. Was Floyd suppose to wait for Ortiz to present an apology gift and take him out for a drink before resuming the fight? Apologize and protect yourself. If not, you go to sleep. People are too damn sensitive. It's a ****in fight. Tbh, I don't believe Ortiz should have even apologized for the headbutt in the first place. This man has insulted you in front of millions, talked about your child hood, and choked you. You would have thought the man just ran over his child by the way he was apologizing. STFU and fight.

    :patsch

How did Floyd steal the money out of your pockets?....Floyd didn't know that 2-piece would k.o. Ortiz. Ortiz quit....he stayed on the canvas he could've got his ass back up....but pretended he was in another world...he was embarrassed and decided not to get back up because of the humiliation of the headbutt....and now a knock down.

I didn't see Ortiz throw any punches at Floyd after embracing each other and floyd's hands were down.
You just said Floyd Outsmarted him again. What your admitting is Floyd purposely pretended to embrace him just to sucker punch him while he wasn't defending. And you think that's ok? Get your head checked.

It's a sucker punch when you embrace your opponent and hit him in the same second when your opponent is defenseless. Go watch the Mosley and Gatti sucker punches from Floyd also. Great guy you're backing there.

Tha main difference is that Floyd is a veteran and a professional and shouldn't have retaliated like that. Floyd was winning the fight, why stoop to his level and make an ass out of yourself?

That's the big difference. They're both unethical but no one is defending Ortiz here nor Ortiz himself. This issue has clearly delineated who the real *****s are imo. (This is one of the very few times I used this term because its apropos).

    Solid post.

I think most of the posters who are reasonable are upset with an anti-climatic ending but acknowledge that placing the blame on Floyd Mayweather is simply hypocritical and disingenuous.

If the shoe was on the other foot most of these posters would defend Ortiz.

It isn't unethical if it's within the rules and it wins the fight.

Floyd won, get over it. It was ethical for him.

:patsch you ****ing dummy he threw multiple sucker punches, right after he butted Floyd, when Cortez was trying to break them up he was swinging at Mayweather who was complaining right before the point deduction. Turn about is fair play, Mayweather just happened to be far superior to Ortiz.

The difference is Ortiz acknowledged what he did was wrong...
