Looked shocking , one paced, no shot variety at all. I know Scott has been terrible but thats no excuse. Looks a bit journeyman ish.

Based on this fight Joshua smashes him.

He's slower than molasses. AJ with his hand speed would destroy him.

Seriously think that even Dimitrenko would have danced circles around Ortiz tonight.

Its hard to look good against a guy who doesn't want to fight. .

The same could be said about Frochy when he fough Direll . Look what he went on to do

He would have always been a bad match for Joshua based on his southpaw style ,one dimensional stance. He has a good variety of punches but they are limited I sequence because hes easily read and like I stated is heavy on his leading foot. What Joshua has worked on is his counter right hand and it works best with Southies as you saw what a short fight the Martin one was. Ortiz is decent and tough but a bigger faster stronger Joshua should hit him at will. Boxing fans hype the guy they shouldn't usually and disregard the guy that should be .

We can see why he ducked Ustinov, put it that way.

He's finally stopped getting the benefit from his PED use.

That's a really good assessment of the two of them and I agree 100%.

Joshua has been working on that counter right hand for some time now, in earlier fights he was miss timing it or falling short but he's getting better with it. Another thing Joshua has begun to do is try and parry shots and counter, you could see in the Breazeale fight he was trying to pick off his shots with his gloves and then counter back. Joshua is only getting better with each fight and adding new skills to his arsenal.

Ortiz's footwork for me was an issue before the Scott fight which is why I was happy when Scott was announced as his opponent to see if Ortiz could adapt to a moving target. As you say he's heavy with the lead foot, his foot work is very deliberate, while it gives him good balance and a good base to generate power in his shots, it means he can't react quickly to changes in direction from an opponent.

Yeah, Dimitrenko wouldn't have even tried to get up like Scott did.

Exactly, Scott was a disgrace, how bad is it that the referee had to warn Scott inside 2 minutes to actually box/fight, I don't think I've ever seen that inside a round.

I'm amazed people write off fighters after a bad or bang average performance, it happens, bottom line is Ortiz won and will move on and Scott should never be allowed to fight on live TV again and if I had anything to do with it I wouldn't pay him after that showing.

This is a classic example of comparing one fighter who gets drug tested constantly-Ortiz and one who they never test -Joshua. Why else would a U.K. promoter sign Ortiz, so they could control his PED testing thus protecting Joshua from him.

Brilliant strategy; Sign your fighters top competition then test him year round while letting your house boy juice up all he wants.

Ortiz wasn't forced to sign, he did it of his own choice.

Anyone remember when Dimitrenko collapsed in the dresser? They had camera footage of it, it was surreal. He would hit the floor just thinking of his opponent.
