Ortiz is an exciting fighter no doubt about it. With that said he's possibly the most mentally weak boxer in the sport.

Ortiz looked good and should take the rematch if he gets that scream/punch crap sorted out.

I do feel people are sleeping on Josesito's skills though. He did well and I felt was gaining momentum. He completely spoiled Ortiz's inside game, had pretty good movement, and his counters at the end of rounds were solid. The size seemed to be wearing him down though. He stands a good chance of being competitive again. Especially with a REAL fight camp.

Ortiz seemed to me to not be as strong as I've seen him in previous fights. I don't know if he is having trouble making 147, but he appeared very dry in the early rounds. And when he did finally get warmed up, his punches didn't have the same thudding power we're used to seeing from him. Something was up with him that night and although he put in a spirited effort and was ahead on the cards, I think his days at 147 are numbered.

I'll just have to wait and see him in his comeback fight. Hopefully he will stay disciplined and not let himself go physically during his injury induced vacation.

Yep. Ortiz was supposed to be the big puncher but it looked like the opposite during fight night.

It wasn't THAT long ago he was at 140.

I know, and I don't even know how he managed to get down to that weight!

Did you mention junior welter, late replacement'?

Regardless, based on previous debates here in esb, Ortiz is probably the 2nd best win of gay weather.

Btw, that size difference is so glaring. I dunno how that can be comparable to tweetybird.
