The biggest Ortiz fan on the board @f1ght3rz said Ortiz wasn't actually signed with Matchroom before.

Seems like a clever move on Hearn's part if he signs Povetkin, Ortiz and Parker as rumoured and adds these to Whyte, Usyk and Miller all of a sudden Joshua has lots of potential opponents and Wilder has no real credible opponents to turn to particualrly if he wants to make PPV money post the Fury fight. Hearn's making chess moves.

Lool let’s be honest Eddy won’t let him fight Joshua or Whyte. Miller and Chisora won’t take that fight and eddy couldn’t convince either of them to take big fights in the past.

Breazeale is with the PBC, Ustinov already turned down a Ortiz fight in the past. Bellew is retiring once Usyk finishes him off. Takam might take it since he has slipped into gatekeeper/journeyman status.

Like I said if Eddy garuntees him a fight with Miller or Whyte he should take it. If he is gunna fight guys like Lucas Browne, Washington etc he can do that with the PBC.

I wouldn't consider Cojanu or Tom Hanks on either Browne or Washingtons level. Ortiz is going to DAZN because he has no fan base beyond hardcores, is fighting on undercards, and can't get any meaningful money fights. Spending 5 months with Hearn, only allowing himself to be promoted on a fight by fight basis, and giving up his WBA mandatory instead of waiting 6 months for the biggest payday he would ever get, what on earth did he think was going to happen? A 3 year deal with DAZN is a very good deal for Ortiz, he gets a lot of big fights for as long as he lasts, as both a contender and a future gatekeeper.

Your spin talk is the other way around. Aint no way Haymon is letting him anywhere near Wilder again, Breazeale, Joyce... who is he going to fight? who is he fighting against on December 1st? Stiverne or Arreola lol? 6 weeks out and still no opponent to promote him against... on an undercard... I rest my case. Bring on Ortiz vs Whyte for WBC interim championship on DAZN.

Well you see matchrooms own website acting like he was signed by them it was probably a fight by fight basis or a two fight deal.

Your acting like Haymon didn’t get him a title shot against Wilder....

He could fight Kownacki, Ugonoh, Washington, Mansour. I’m not saying he shouldn’t sign with Eddy I’m sayinh if he is gunna sign for Eddie he better have a garuntee of at least Miller, Whyte or Chisora if not then he may aswell stay with the PBC.

My guess is he will only sign a deal with who pays him the most at this point in his career. Due to his age and lack of big paydays I think he is looking for a big payday to cash out on.

Lol, the only reason Haymon let Wilder anywhere near Ortiz is because Wilder demanded it and threatened to sack Haymon after a long list of debacles. If Ortiz could fight any of those guys, he already would have or would be, but he hasnt, and he isn't, he's fighting TBA, on an undercard, without being promoted. I think its a good move from Ortiz and his team personally. If Haymon/PBC etc cant match the DAZN offer, then it isn't like he's got anything to lose or his career is going anywhere. He's got a lot of guys to choose from on DAZN and a lot of money to make.

Yes, it was a fight by fight deal and Matchroom wasn't his promoter in the first place, they signed him to fight at their events. He was never a Matchroom fighter anyway. I think he was promoted by Dade Promotions at that time. They made a deal with Matchroom and Ortiz fought twice at Matchroom events vs Scott and Allen.

AJ could have done the same, thank you for saying that bro you made my point for me.

If Eddie screws him over too bad for him, I don’t like Ortiz because he is a drug cheat but I rate his skills and I wanna see him fight, Whyte, AJ, Miller, Usyk etc so if he can get those fights with Hearn then great.

He has always been promoted by Dade who promote a lot of the Cuban runaways. You can be co promoted though, Dillian Whyte has a fight by fight deal with Eddie too. Luis got ripped off the first time I hope for his sake they don’t mess him around a second time.

Yes, i think we all talked past each other. Promoted by Dade, co promoted by Matchroom to fight on their events.

If he signs with Matchroom this time he should be sure about getting two or three big fights to cash out. I think after 2019 he will call it a career anyway.
