berthoe knocked him down with a vicious shot sending his neck snapping back, he got up and fought on then but he didn't even attempt to get up against ellerbeweather, he quit.

If true...probably because, he knew he was in over his head. And because, that payday will provide endless fishing excursions.

You do realize that shots you don't see coming hurt the most right?

I don't think I'd call it quitting but mental state definitely comes in play. He was getting dominated through 4 rounds. Not so in the Berto fight

he couldnt handle being tagged by right hand after right hand, he wasnt even mad about the whole ordeal any other fighter would have gotten up and been furious.

Ortiz always had a Glass Heart and Glass Jaw.

Either he quit or he couldn't continue because of his Chin. Either way, it was disgraceful.

Nah. Watch the replay from behind Ortiz's head. That was a full-force shot that he wasn't in any way prepared for, he wasn't even in a fighting stance so his body position was all wrong to absorb a punch, plus he was probably still stunned from the first punch. That second punch rocked his skull and his world. Bull**** he could have got up.

It looks like for me, not to mention Ortiz was hit by 2 shot's from Mayweather not one.

well then why didn't he protest it? he got up and acted happy the fight was over, plus he has a history of quitting.

Both things are utterly irrelevant to the fact that he took a huge shot flush to the face when he wasn't prepared for it in any way, and accordingly didn't have the strength in his legs needed to beat the count.

But hey, why am I trying to reason with a guy who has a fat homosexual parasite as his avy! :patsch

he was smiling even when he was on his knee he flat out quit, he got up and was happy the fight was over, he gave an almost similar excuse to the maidana one "hey i wanted people to enjoy themselves and i think they did":patsch

The fighter deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I'm also of the opinion that maybe Ortiz could have gotten up. Perhaps he figured it would be better for his career to go out in controversial fashion rather than take a 12 round shellacking.
