Word is going around that WBO North American Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Victor Vicious Ortiz beat up Oscar De La Hoya in a sparring session at the secluded Big Bear training camp in California last week even as Filipino idol Manny Pacquiao was hammering big Marcus McDaniels in a four round sparring session at the Wild Card This content is protected of celebrated trainer Freddie Roach. Pacquiao almost knocked out Ortiz and had him really hurt when they sparred in preparation for one of Pacquiaos earlier title fights. However, Pacquiao was also having trouble handling Rashad Holloway, a 510 a 27 year old light middleweight with an impressive record of 9-1 with 5 knockoutsr when they sparred for the first time last week with Roach saying hes the best guy at this point among the roster of sparring partners which includes undefeated Yuri Foreman and Marvin Much too MuchCordova and possibly Britains Amir Khan.
I am sick of these stupid sparring stories/myths/legends/half truths etc. Sparring means ****. It has no bearing on how a REAL FIGHT will go. None.
correct ^^ sparring is part of a build up to a boxing match...it's not THE boxing match... a lot of scenarios could have been taking place... bit like saying that a kid in the park was spotted running circles round ronaldo...
these so called rumors are just meant to hype the fight and make it look competitive to the doubters. Nothing more.
I have been hearing for the last decade of how ODLH got knocked out, knocked down, put down, beat up, roughed up in sparring. A lot of people hate Oscar. Im sure there is some credibility to some of it, but in all the years I have been following boxing, which is a long time, I have yet to ever read nor hear of any confirmed story a fighter getting beaten by his sparring partners. Its never anything more than a rumor or the usual "According to some people on the inside, Fighter A is getting taken to school by sparring partner B" it Hypes a fight, nothing more
