I think you need to broaden your perspective. There are more factors than money that need to be taken into account when forming relationships, particularly on a long-term basis. By the time Fury has faced Wilder for the third time, he'll have fought in a big bout four times abroad. Joshua's biggest bout remains an old, inactive Klitschko in London. Need I say any more?
Which one AJs hasn't been big bout against a top quality opponent? Probably at the O2 against Molina.
There was a time, I’m reasonably certain, when bickering over how much money another man earned, was solely the preserve of clucking females looking for a mate. I may be wrong OR this may be yet another piece of supporting evidence for the demonstrable existence of the phenomenon known as “the Mandela effect”. anyone else have this same memory?
I'm not an insider, but to me an obvious elephant in the room is the prospect of Fury returning in 2018 to work with Sky Sports. Fury won the title against Klitschko in Germany, on Sky Sports Box Office and as soon as his troubles started they dropped him like a sack of potatoes - and I'm referring to their news coverage. Then the hype machine with Joshua began in conjunction. I can't really figure out how someone like Fury, who doesn't seem to forget things, would just jump in bed with Eddie Hearn and Sky Sports following all that had happened. One of the roles of a promoter is to represent the boxer via a mutually beneficial exchange. Is it that outlandish to question Hearn's motive in approaching Fury following his comeback? I don't think so at all. Mitch is just adding up imaginary numbers and selectively removing context.
Which one of Joshua's bouts have not been against a top quality opponent? Molina (useless) Breazeale (useless) Martin (useless) Takam (useless and old) Pulev (useless and old) Ruiz (Average contender that couldn't even wobble old Liakhovich or crap opponents like Zumbano Love and Franklin) Parker (Above average but clearly not top quality) Povetkin (old, had just been dropped by David Price and has never been a world champion - surely top quality is at least obtaining a legitimate belt)
Not sure how I can ‘lose’ the debate if you don’t actually reply. Regurgitating things over and over again without context doesn’t necessarily make them true. Wasn’t even a dig, just a joke about your grammar.
Behave mate. He fought Wilder 3 months after the Pianeta fight. You can't tell me there'd be 3 months in between losing to Bellew and beating Wilder
Agreed. It’s obviously not some clear cut decision driven solely by money as certain posters would have us believe.
Takam - 78,000 for late replacement is big bout for decent Euro level guy that would nearly on par with Wilders best win Pulev - one of best jabs in divison and has better resume than Wilder. Parker - Far better resume than Wilder in massive earning fight PPV and 78k attendance. Ruiz - Late replacement who caused upset (which out sold in both attendance and viewing the American HW champ in the same city of New York in the same month). Ruiz 2 rematch in Saudi is the highest earning PPV in the history of the UK. Povetkin - Again far, far better resume than Wilder. 80k in attendance. Went to prove still one of best after by beating Hughie and Whyte.
You've added 10k on to the attendance and used the example of beating Hughie Fury as reasoning behind someone's world class credentials.
Huge home attendance = top quality opposition? You are definitely malfunctioning. Takam = never beaten anyone in his career, and old and short, never close to being a world champion in his career = not "top quality" opposition which is what we are discussing. Pulev = Old, best wins are 43 year old Thompson, Chisora and Hughie Fury. KO'd in about 5 rounds the only time he challenged for title = not "top quality" opposition which is what we are discussing. Ruiz = As i said, never beaten anyone besides Joshua. Beating Joshua does not make him a top quality opponent. It means that Joshua lost to an average guy, a tiny little morbidly obese average guy at that = not "top quality" opposition which is what we are discussing. Parker = Won a vacant belt against Rice Pudding Jr, defended it against Hughie Fury and got a home town decision (edit: not home town, that was Rice Pudding Jr, got a gift in Manchester, ironically) and then against his sparring partner and couldn't even wobble him. Lost to Whyte who most here say is British level = not "top quality" opposition which is what we are discussing. Povetkin = Old, short and never a world champion = not "top quality" opposition which is what we are discussing.
Very similar in style to Tyson (but a more solid chinn) that would be one of if not Wilders beet wins? Yes I did. As far as attendance I went with what was reported on the following link: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ci...ua-proves-heavyweight-division-built-his/amp/
