First in the Maidana fight he said he didn't deserve to get beat up like that. Tonight he realised he was going to get potshotted all night with right hands, get worn out and stopped in the latter rounds without being able to do anything about it. So the bullly at heart starts headbutting Floyd each time he gets close (he already tried in the second rd) then fakes being sorry and invites Floyd to tag him by keeping his hands down; he could have gotten up but chose not to because he wanted to go home early. Ortiz didn't deserve to be in a megafight;he has no heart when he meets adversity. Him and Cintron are in a class of their own. And kuddos to Merchant for putting Floyd back into his place.
Dude got caught cold, no way he could've got up. He didnt quit he just lost to a boxer thats never lost, thats all
I think he used it as a way out. He got his money and a slight beating. Maidana beat him harder with less $$$.
4th rd isn't cold; he could have protected himself after the first cheap shot; instead he looks at the ref and boom.... choses not to get up The guy was happy as anything during the interviews, like he never had a chance to win anyways.
