at this stage Oritz is a better opponent than Mosley and the best either man has faced at 147.

Mayweathers stance has never changed. If Pacquiao wants it take the test.

All that proves is that he's suffering from some sort of mental illness.

He obviously feels he has something to prove otherwise he'd just **** off.

Again, you clearly haven't read what I've written.

Common foes - DLH and Hatton.

Do I think Margarito and Cotto would beat Floyd - one answer. No - but they were Floyd's leading contemporaries and instead he didn't face them.

Typical ***** response - ''he doesn't need to prove anything because he'd beat them anyway''. If only a lawyer could use that argument on a murder case

Would I pick Pacquiao to win..... well, Floyd has had three fights in four years.... Pacquiao has been active and is more proven against top class opposition, so yes.

As for ducking, well.... Floyd seems to have lost his hunger for boxing but not publicity.... difficult question to answer.

    As a largely ridiculed figure?

Isn't there any past prime guys he can fight to boost his resume instead?

What about draining Winky Wright down to 154 and we can all pretend he beat a great version of him?

Don't forget him schooling Marquez, an opponent you think is the best fight out there and more than acceptable for Pacquiao at 147.

A largely ridiculed figure with $100million in the bank.

 well played to the 1st point, must be at least a bit 'spethal' to put himself in that bracket but no I dont agree with the 2nd sentemce. Its ALL about the dollar and I sincerely believe in his eyes he doesnt owe anyone 1 little iota and needs no to prove nothing. He's wrong, of course; he needs to prove he's the undisputed fighter around today (neither can fight Hopkins before that not-so old chesnut gets a mention) but to him nah I dont think he feels he needs to beat Pac or indeed Ortiz he just wants/needs to get paid

Marquez is an acceptable opponent for Pacquiao.

Start a thread on here asking if you want to see the fight.... most people will agree.

    It's a very intriguing fight.

He's pretty good at spending it, so I doubt he's got $100m+.

In any case, there must surely come a point where you'd want to prove yourself to be the best, regardless of money.

I'm sure I speak for most people on here in that I wouldn't mind having a few quid more than I've got, but money isn't everything.

Money is everything mate. Would you like to have mansions, cars, 1000 dollar hookers every night?? playmates? i certainly would and hopefully will in a few years as i am going into a very profitable profession.

marquez and mosley are acceptable opponents for pac but ortiz isn't for floyd. keep in mind ortiz would beat both marquez and mosley in many peoples opinion.

    talk about a double standard

No way would it happen at 140 though - prime weight for Pac - JMM would be 135.

Pac-JMM would happen at the full welterwight limit with Manny weighing in at around 144/145 and JMM blowing up to a fleshy 146.

Agree, we've seen JMM is ineffective at 147 if the fights gonna happen it should be at 140. I doubt it would be though, Arum said pacs future fights will be at 147 and whilst you gotta take that with a pinch of salt Manny has been as guilty as Floyd at fighting people when the weight and time of fight is in his advantage so I think they'd make it happen at 147. At 140 Pac still big favourite but its still a very good fight.

Im assuming no-one thinks ortiz can actually beat Floy then? On that note, devils advocate and all that, its a **** fight then surely? Financially it makes sense thereofore for Floyd it makes sense its a huge fight/payday for Ortiz etc but if its a no-brainer maybe its a **** fight no?

If its made at 147 JMM oughta to just come in at 140 anyway, higher than that he'd be so sluggish and lose badly. I think he'd do that come in light, Manny wont be much bigger on the scales
