The real question is: Does Cotto hit as hard as Maidana? Cause if so, Vic's taking a seat.

And you're upset about this you doof!!

We could only wish Pacquiao and other fighters who cherry pick would have the same mentallity, Pac since JMM has continually been carefully matched to assure he continues being Arums meal ticket! And many fighters do the same unfortunately, only a few who will fight the best of the best.

Cotto wins by 9th round KO. Would probably be a damn good fight, but I just feel Cotto is a much more complete and in control fighter. Some of Victor's wild trading tendencies might get him countered and hurt versus Miguel Cotto.

Cotto is also a better jabber and body puncher. These are two things that Miguel can call upon if the going gets tough. Ortiz does not do either of those things very well.

Im surprised majority picks Cotto, I was never really been impressed by Cotto, Cotto eat's left hands everyday. Wobbled vs Judah, Quit vs Pacman and he gets cut easily. Ortiz would Maul hes a**

Easy answer is Cotto because he had already proven himself before the Margo fight more than Ortiz has to this point. If Ortiz puts forth a good performance next month then my opinion might change. Until then...

    Cotto TKO8

Almost KO by Corley and Torres ffs!

Even Malignaggi made Cotto unitentionally do the Ali shuffle ffs.

Like Williams said, Cotto is a 10 rd fighter...Gasses after the 9th.

Ortiz is faster, more explosive, and possibly just as strong, and has better Stamina.

The only real advantage I see Cotto have over Ortiz is his maturity in the ring, but Ortiz has made adjustmenst since Maidana, and with give Cotto hell today and prime for prime because I know we haven't see Ortiz peak yet.

Ortiz is more explosive and faster than Cotto. He's not afraid to bang either.

Cotto excels when he is bullying, but I can't see Cotto bullying Ortiz. We all seen a prime Cotto before he started sliding, and he was impressive against B level fighters, but B level fighters also had him dancing like Judah.

Ortiz is clearly B level IMO. Cotto once reached A level elite status. Victor isn't on that level yet and might never be.

One thing I'll tell you is that Cotto throughout the course of his young career learned from his mistakes and improved greatly as a fighter. I've yet to see that from Ortiz. A clear example would be the Maidana and Berto fights where he essentially made the same mistakes of coming in without a jab and openly trading with his opponents which led to him being dropped multiple times in both fights.

Contrasts that with Cotto who learned prety quickly from the Torres fight that trading that wrecklessly was a foolish thing to do and he never did it again. Fact is even with all his talents, Otiz is simply not a smart fighter.

And and as far as speed goes... Cotto has better handspeed IMO, while Ortiz has slightly quicker feet. I don't think that would matter here though since the difference is slight and if it came down to a boxing match Cotto is quite clearly the more experienced boxer of the two and the only one who knows how to work off the jab.
