Berto is too fast for Ortiz and will hit him at will. IMO, Ortiz won't last the distance. Berto via TKO.

    I think Ortiz by decision.

Not sure how great Ortiz's power will be at 147. Actually, I don't think Berto has great power either. I see this being a decision fight with the possiblity of Ortiz more likely to be hurt during the fight. But, Ortiz does have a decent chin. Despite all the shots he took from Maidana, physically he could have continued. It was mentally where he just checked out.

I think Ortiz is a little better boxer which will carry the day.

The wildcard is the mental aspect. Berto did have to dig deep to win the Collazo fight. Ortiz hasn't shown that ability yet.

I think its a great fight, though.

I think it's a great fight not because they are great fighters, but it looks like fan friendly fight. Berto has the edge in speed and power, but Ortiz should still have enough power for Berto to be wary of. Still, Berto has fought the better fighters in Collazo and Quintana, and I'm going to pick Berto, but if Ortiz comes prepared he can do what Collazo did and give Berto a long night. I'm not sure if Berto will win by ko or decision, but it should be a great fight while it lasts.

berto will win just becuz ortiz is so shy after that beating . ortiz always went in for the kill. now he is safety first after maidana wooped him . to me ortiz should of knocked campbell and peterson out but hes scared. berto is gunna try n thrash him, lets see if ortiz is down to go to war.

This fight could go either way imo. Berto clearly has more dog in him, and is pretty aggressive and consistent with his offense, but he fights too square, has a leaky defense, and his chin does not convince me. Thing is though, you could question Ortiz's chin, and! heart imo.

Ortiz has tended to be a bit more conservative of late, although against Peterson, he seem to be a bit more aggressive, when in previous fights since the Maidana fight, against Diaz, Campbell, he'd fought more measured, cautiously. That said, I do think Ortiz will fight on the backfoot against Berto.

Berto does not convince me when fighting left handers. Now I know Berto had his problems with Quintana, and to be fair to him, he did have a bad arm apparently, but he also went life and death with Collazo, now I cant make my mind up if that was Collazo bringing the beast out in himself, knowing it was one of his last chances after losses to Hatton, Mosley, or whether he just exploited Berto's ability when facing a left hander?

Against Quitana, I felt Berto became very predictable with his offense. Berto was pressing Quitana, but what he was doing, was laying back slightly, bringing his back foot (right foot) out a little and squaring himself up, as he was looking to make Quitana fall short so he could counter with the right hand, but left handers can spot things like this, as they're used to fighting orthodox fighters. Once Quitana knew Berto was trying to set up that one punch, it became easier to avoid, which is where he started to run into problems imo, cause the last thing you want against a lefty, is to be reduced to throwing one punch at a time, cause the best way to fight them, is to apply pressure, but put your punches together in 3/4's.

I think this fight could go either way, but ima roll with Ortiz because I think his ability to move, work his openings off his jab could be a significant factor. I also think Ortiz's his precision with his power when someone is coming to him could play a major factor, particularly with Berto's leaky D, and questionable chin. I think Berto might draw Ortiz into a fight in spells, due to his pressure, aggresion, only I dont think Ortiz will allow himself to stay there and fight Berto, and I think Berto's willingness to fight, apply the pressure, fight square, is what could exploit his defense/chin even more imo.

Its worth pointing out though, Ortiz looks like he could be open for the looping right hand/hook, I mean how many times did Maidana land it when he was hurt and going back?

I just think, Berto's lack of defense/chin on the front foot, Ortiz's power, ability to counter off the backfoot?

Have a feeling Berto would walk onto something big, he's hardly elusive at times.

Ortiz either takes Berto out early which has a high probability in my book, or he'll gradually lose concentration and confidence for a late TKO or decision loss. Victor is an outstanding talent but it's like he has a time bomb working against him, he might be the best 4 round fighter around the 140lbs ballpark, but barely top 10 in championship distance.

Either way it's a solid fight and IMO 147 won't be the kind of disadvantage for him most would think, and I'm damn sure to root for Ortiz to take overpaid Bertoe out, European style!
