I can see Ortiz being competitive from the beginning, but once he starts taking shots, Berto could take over and force as stoppage in the second half of the fight. No doubt this is Ortiz' hardest fight of his career. I think he may fail just like he did against Maidana. Hope I'm wrong though. I'll be supporting him all the way.
Ortiz may be drained at the weight he is fighting at now, there is also the fact that he may be extra motivated due to the circumstances of his career and the magnatude of this fight. If Ortiz does come out feeling strong at the weight after training harder than ever it could be a great fight, however there are too many if's for me so I'll take Berto.
Berto is going to beat the crap outta Ortiz who has digressed as a fighter. It will be a good fight don't get me wrong but it will be mostly one-sided. You have Berto who has looked like he's improving against a guy who looks like he's digressing. Berto IMO holds the handspeed and power advantage. He will bust Ortiz up in the mid rounds and take his heart down the stretch. Berto is the hungrier and better fighter here.
Berto's nothing special, but he has more mental fortitude than Ortiz, even if he has sub-par durability himself. I expect Ortiz to get stopped...he'll land some nice shots, but start getting beat up by Berto.
What the **** you talking about?!?!?! Berto fought the likes of Hernandez who is an ATG and one of the hardest punchers in boxing history. Berto also fought and beat Collazo on a wide unanimous desicion that clearly shows that Berto is the man! :yep On a serious note...X2 on your post!
