Ortiz vs. Campbell & Khan vs. Malignaggi RBR

Round 6

Campbell forcing a bit more of a dogfight, smacking the body of Ortiz who engages in kind. Ortiz gets Campbell against the ropes and gets him to stop throwing and shell up, then backs off but Campbell immediately begins following again. Campbell lands a partially slipped right hand. He gets countered in the process but has Ortiz backing up a bit quicker. Ortiz splits Campbell's guard with a right hand (after switching orthodox) and Campbell shakes his head no. Ortiz back to southpaw, circles right, then left, the right and left again. Campbell not bothering to play around with him, waiting for him to slow down. It doesn't happen before the round ends.

It looks from the HL like Daniel Jacobs burst the bowels of his overmatched opponent. They showed a trillion bodyshot knockdowns.

 

Don't forget the extra point for the "KD". Unless you have an even round, it should be 60-53. :good

 

Round 7

Campbell starting to slow down on his feet a bit, shuffling after Ortiz and winging the one-two half-heartedly, maybe trying to lure Ortiz into a brawl. Ortiz lands a straight left cross coming forward, then a right hook circling to the left. He keeps changing directions with his feet and is never even remotely off balance. Campbell in contrast is very flat-footed and seems to be just waiting for Ortiz to settle down. Ortiz picks at Campbell's bones with his jab.

This is a very clear outboxing, round after round - not quite on the level of last night's Dzinziruk over Dawson, but more than one would have expected to see from Victor Ortiz against Nate Campbell.
