Hearn just signed him so he'll never wreck his Femi cash cow.

I really can't see where people are coming from when they suggest Ortiz would beat Haye. I have seen no evidence to back that up.

Let's cut to the chase here and give Ortiz "the champion nobody wants to fight" a match up with Joshua. That's a fight people will pay to see. Just because Ortiz is NOW fighting in the UK, doesn't mean he needs to start with the lower level Whyte and work his way up, he's already up. "But Hearn won't have his fighters fight each other" you might say, well that could be one of the main reasons for Hearn signing him over, to keep him out of AJs way while it matters.

In which case, Eddie better get to work on signing Parker and Povetkin too. :deal:

He fought Klitschko (although the 20 million dollars he made off the British pay per view might have had something to do with it). It seems like if you are willing to fight the top dog in a division you should be willing to fight anyone else, but for some reason he's never fought Povetkin.

Here we go. This better not turn into "showcase fights" for the next 6 months.

"Christian Cherchi clears the situation up: “We sit down last Thursday with Takam’s manager Joseph Jermain and considered that there was little time left to prepare accurately for a top-class southpaw opponent as Luis Ortiz. That’s why we’ve finally decided to partecipate at Friday’s purse bid for Duhaupas’ WBC Silver belt. The sanctioning body’s also agreed that considering the Takam’s pedigree purses will be split 65-35% in favour of the Champion and not 70-30% as normally is"

Better for Takam and proof that mandatory purse bid splits can change.

You'd think that but what you don't see his haye won't take a dangerous fight unless it is a big enough payday to retire him like the Joshua or fury fight. Ortiz could potentially retire haye who hasn't fought a live opponent since klitschko.

Being from the UK I've seen the joke Haye has become ever since he started fighting guys like Audley Harrison's, the standard has dropped further and further down. His avoiding Shannon Briggs ffs doesn't that tell you what his mentality is.

Lol Haye has not fought a live opponent since Klitschko so the sensible pick is Ortiz at this point.

If you think Haye has ducked Briggs then it is hard to take anything else you say seriously. If Briggs was willing to take a sensible amount of money then that fight would already of happened. Instead he wants 5 x more than some are getting for world title fights in the same division.

Ortiz seems to be the new Ibeabuchi, the unbeatable boxing forum legend.

Ortiz granted does look the goods but only recently has upped his opposition, only in the last year has he beaten both Jennings and a faded Thompson, prior to that he was on the USA can circuit.

Plus hasn't he also been busted twice for PED'S?

    Well, I'm crushed.

I was seriously looking forward to that fight. 1, because I would consider it a fight between two top 10s. 2, because Ortiz needs some real, good tests as soon as possible.

Ortiz will probably just fight more garbage now, wasting his, and everyone else's, time.

I'm not privy to what the negotiations are, can you quote a source for this? Coz I've not heard Haye mention it personally. All I know was he said he would fight him if he fought and won on the undercard and Briggs did that. Anyway I rate Haye as a boxer but his reputation is tarnished after his last two opponents so he really needs to step it up so he can get in the mix.
