Sources are stating that both these guys will be fighting on the Fury vs Wilder undercard. Who does Ortiz and Joyce fight next? Do they put it all on the line again each other? Im betting on Stiffy Stiverne and Christobol Arreola coming out of retirement to be the name fighters to feature on the end of 2 highlight reel KOs. Who do you think these guys fight?
I hope they'll both have decent opponents, better fighters than Szpilka or Stiverne. Someone like Breazeale would be okay for Ortiz, and Washington would be a respectable opponent for Joyce.
Be good if Kownacki, Martin, Breazeale, Ruiz or Jennings ended up as their opponents. Time set the US heavyweight scene alight again.
Haymon would be completly nuts if he puts up both together in one ring against each other. Washington vs Joyce makes sense. Ortiz will likely fight sb. like Joey Abell, Travis Kauffman or Joey Dawejko. Would like to see Ortiz vs. Trey Lippe.
I hate seeing two great guys in the same weight class fighting stiffs on an undercard instead of fighting each other.
Especially when its so obvious they should be fighting each other . Wilder vs Fury Ortiz vs Joyce Kownacki vs Martin 2 Arreola vs Stiverne 3 Now that's a heavyweight event that could easily be put together and drive PPV buys up.
Joyce would defeat Ortiz IF they fought next ,just like fury will have a major advantage over Wilder bc he will have the big awkward Joyce as a main sparring partner ,they BOTH would be preparing for opponents at the same time . Fury is a southpaw( Ortiz) and Joyce is a very long unpredictable pressure fighter so Fury will be ready for anything wilder does with his weird angles and herky jerky movements.. It wouldn't shock me if Joyce fights a better opponent then Ortiz does bc Ortiz seems reluctant to actually fight anyone where Joyce is looking for top tier guys.
Some great card suggestions being thrown around here. But watch it wind up being something terrible like Ortiz v Dawejko and Joyce v Abell.
both will fight nobodies of some kind. martin or breazeal in with one would be good. both not very good in comparison but big and can throw. also joshua as a measuring stick for both fighters
Ortiz is pushing 60 and Joyce is almost 35. They need to fight each other, who the hell wants to see Joyce - Washington??
Ive taking shits more competive than TBA. 9/10 PPV under cards are garbage, last PPV I bought myself was May-Canelo (they at least tried hard to Stack the card)
If it was me I would make an all HW card. Wilder vs Fury, Ortiz vs Kownacki, Joyce vs Ugonoh and Stevenson vs Gvozdyk before the undercard.
